PART 3
"So, first year students, your task for today is to assemble a bike. You will have 1 hour to compete your task. Good luck!" said Professor Vardhan Suryavanshi.
It's alive!! ππ
"What about our partners sir? Do we get to decide or will you?" a student asked.
"You can choose your own partners today," he answered. All the students were overjoyed and ran to make pairs with their friends. This. This is bliss in any academic situation.
Sanyukta and Randhir were trying to find each other. Sanyukta saw him but then she spotted Sahil Kataria. He was a member of Rehan's gang, the only one in the first year.
He could be her entry pass to the gang!
Yes! She just had to pair up with him and show him her intelligence. Perfect idea!
I like this version of Sanyukta. Shrewd, calculative, smart. Mwah!
She hesitated for a while...she had promised Randhir that they would be lab partners. But the pairs weren't permanent, right? She could pair up with him in future classes.
And yet, has something resembling a conscience!π
She quickly went and stood next to Sahil.
Randhir was a bit disheartened when he saw that Sanyukta had paired up with someone else. His partner was a tomboyish, bespectacled girl whose name he forgot as soon as she told him.
Dang!
Sanyukta saw the disappointed look on his face as his eyes met hers. She felt a pang of guilt in her heart. She sent him an SMS.
I'm so sorry. I couldn't find you.π
As she pressed the send button, she felt very guilty. She had never lied to Randhir before.
Her phone beeped and she saw a reply.
It's ok. π
Bitchyukta. I like her I tell you. This is the first FF I've ever likED sANYUKTA IN!
She heaved a sigh of relief. All the pairs started working. She introduced herself to Sahil and he did the same. Sanyukta worked with precision at a good pace. Sahil was doing a great job too.π So glad sahil is not side lined!
Randhir was doing a superb job but his partner was mostly daydreaming.
Can't blame her. She has a hottie for a partner!π
After an hour, time was up.
"Now let's see your bikes, farzi engineers," Vardhan sir said. He started taking a round of the lab.
Yeah baby! Farzi!!π
He checked all the bikes, out of which most had flaws.
When he checked Sanyukta and Sahil's bike, he said, "Good job."
He checked Randhir and his partner's bike and said, "Well done."
RD da genuis!
"I have inspected all the bikes. The best ones were made by these two pairs," he said, pointing towards them. Everyone clapped.
"OK, now please disperse and go to your lectures," he said. As the students were leaving, he said, "Oh, and I forgot to tell you something. The pairs that you all have formed today are permanent."
Sanyukta froze at the last word.
PERMANENT.
How would she pair up with Randhir now?
Daaang!
You, madam, are cruel!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Randhir felt sad when he heard that the pairs would be permanent. Sanyukta's words rang in his head.
"We will be lab partners, I promise!"
It was a promise she had made when both of them had cleared the FITE entrance exam and passed with flying colours. They had imagined working together on machines...living their passion together. How awesome that would have been.
She could have tried harder to find him in the crowd.
He guessed it was a promise meant to be broken.
Poor RD. I can sense the beginnings of a broken heart.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As she was leaving the class, Sahil said, "You did a great job, Sanyukta. I am impressed." She smiled and thanked him. They both left the lab.
π³
He had praised her! Surely he would mention her when he would talk to his friends.
π ShrewdYukta! Yeah baby!
"Good going, Sanyu!" she thought to herself.
ππ
She met Randhir in the corridor. A wave of guilt engulfed her again. They looked at each other, said hi and smiled. But their eyes veiled their true emotions.
Charcoal black eyes were hiding disappointment, while toffee brown eyes were hiding guilt.
βοΈ Loved this!
They walked back to their hostel rooms.
Randhir went and sat near his room's window, looking at the milky moonlight and starry sky.
He felt a bit better now. After all, Sanyukta had not paired up with someone else on purpose. It was a genuine mistake.
He smiled whenever he thought of her. She was not just his BFF. For him, she was rain on a dry day, sunshine on a cloudy day, early morning dew on flower petals...
She was his life.
Someone's in LURVE!!!

Hope you liked it! π³
