You know that could simply come down to salman letting the powers that be know that ahead of time he can't or won't come . The other gentlemen might've simply missed 5 appearances and never could've informed any one

Right now, the defense needs to pick on the loopholes and create confusion, which is exactly what they are doing. It is prosecution fault to not question him and now this angle will be used to the fullest. Doesn't matter what's the truth, they just need to create confusion and doubt in the Judge's mind right now.
