Mumbai, November 7: In absentia: Mandira Bedi's sole nomination is as Television Personality of the year. And she stands out being the only one who hasn't acted in a serial this year. The others in the running are Hiten Tejwani, Rajeev Khandelwal, Nikki Aneja.
All about style: Despite bagging one at the MTV Lycra Style Awards, the News Anchor of the Year nomination has eluded Nidhi Razdan. The ones who did make it are Rajdeep Sardesai (NDTV), Afreen Kidwai (Star News), Pankaj Pachauri (NDTV) Alka Saxena (Zee News), Sumit Awasthi (Aaj Tak).
Coining contrasts: Shaan (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa) might feel a little intimidated, after being placed in the same category as Karan Thapar (Court Martial) but they've both been nominated as Anchor of the Year.
Missing persons report: Ejaz Khan has been nominated for Debutante of the Year, for his portrayal of Varun on Kahiin To Hoga. There's just one problem—he's not Varun anymore. So will his replacement pick it up? Maybe Best Cameo would've been more suitable!
More the merrier: The most nominations have been bagged by newcomer Rajeev Khandelwal (Sujal from Kahiin To Hoga). Debutante of the Year, Television Personality of the Year, Ensemble Cast of the Year and Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Also standing proud is Jasmeet Walia (Mona Singh) of Jassi Jassi Koi Nahin, who has bagged four nominations herself. Looks like the newcomers rule this season. The duo will also be competing for Television personality of the year.
One for the road: The scheming Ramola Sikand (Sudha Chandran) kept audiences gripped to Kahin Kissi Roz) for four years before going off the air. This is the finest farewell the industry can offer her, a nomination for Best Actor in a Negative Role. The others in the category are Akashdeep Sehgal (Ansh from Kyunki Saas...) and Shweta Kawaatra (the old Pallavi from Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki).
