Tainted innocence, tarnished fame,
Barty Crouch joined the death eaters at a young age, hence 'tainted innocence'. When he was caught, it tarnished the name of Crouch family, mainly his father's, reducing his chances of becoming minister for magic.
Cursed to a life of doom,
He was sentenced to Askaban.
Yet no less loved.
His mother loved him no matter, and sacrificed her life to save him.
Served to a great purpose.
He was the one to execute most of Voldemort's rebirth plan, which, for the ones on the dark side, is a great purpose.
