#5 Miss you
Viraj had just won the national championship. Kabir and his mom had organized a small party to celebrate.
Some of the guests had started arriving. The only person who had not arrived was Viraj.
Nisha came downstairs, conscious in the sari that Vasundhara had asked her to wear.
Nisha to Kabir- I told you, it's a waste of time.
Kabir *glaring*-I'm already worried sick about bhaiya. It's been hours since we saw him.
Nisha-Must be drunk somewhere.
Kabir- He hasn't touched alcohol in two months.
Nisha- The championship is over now. That was the sole reason for taking care of his health. *wide eyed * three months... Have you told Ma?
Kabir- No. I'll tell her after the divorce is irreversible.

Viraj stood drunk in the doorway, trying to figure out if he had come to the right place. So many people? How?
Nisha stepped out for some fresh air. "Oh!" Viraj remarked.
He began to push the door, now sure that this was his house.
Nisha grabbed his arm. He was too drunk to process. She pulled him downstairs to the Academy cafeteria. Switching on the lights, she started to make lemonade.
"Run away with me Nisha!" Viraj said, jogging lightly. He stumbled and fell.
He went unusually quiet.
Nisha looked at him from over the counter worriedly. He was staring at the floor and picking at the skin on his fingers.
"Here, you will feel better." She handed him the lemonade. "Liar. That's what you said the last time, too." He said without looking up. She tried to kneel down next to him, but decided against it midway.
"Ummm, I can't sit down in this sari, mind moving to a chair?" Nisha asked.
Looking up with concern, he held out his hand. With all her might she made him stand. He slumped down on a chair. He picked up a table knife and stared at it. "Do you think anyone will miss me if I die?" Viraj asked, matter-of-factly. Nisha slapped him. "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!" She snatched the knife away from him. Slightly more aware now, Viraj rested his head against his palms. As the outburst registered, he started to sob.
Nisha tried to pat his arm consolingly. He was still shaking with sobs. Nisha walked to him and rested his head against her belly. She stroked his hair till he fell quiet. Pushing his head back, she caressed his cheek. "I've missed you so much."
