Am I second????? Yes I am!!! Dancing

Such a wonderful, marvelous, beautiful and mesmerizing update it was...
you tend to write every chapter better than the previous one and i really wonder how Embarrassed
you described NK's feelings perfectly...the frustration, anger and will as well as his love for Khushi
it was him who walked on a tight rope today, caught between love of his life and love for freedom
i felt bad for him...particularly when you narrated his past, his fathers dislike towards him and his endless struggle to make him proud...
NK and his Dadi's part...just sooo emotional, heart warming...
I felt sad for Khushi...bearing the feeling of loneliness twice is just too much
first giving up Arnav and then being betrayed, given up by a man whom she wanted to establish a successful relation with:

She didn't want to believe it, the sight that was in front of her. She hated the little seed of doubt in her mind that had sprung up, making her heart constrict.

He couldn't have done this, he wouldn't have.

Not after he had promised her not to.

A sharp burst of rage shot through her, and she tore her hands from the grasp of the man behind her, her body shaking in anger.

"How are you accuse him of this? Don't you have any shame, accusing an innocent man of such deeds? Our whole movement is based on ahimsa, on nonviolence, and he wouldn't dream of-"

She froze, hearing his soft whisper. Her stomach dropped, breathing becoming difficult as her throat tightened painfully. She swallowed tightly and continued, ignoring the way her heart told her otherwise.

"-he w-wouldn't ever dream of doing such a t-"

She heard his voice again, his time more gently. She could hear the poignant notes of apology, the pain searing through her. A hiccuping sob escaped her, and she blinked back tears, slowly turning to face him.

He could barely meet her gaze, his own eyes swimming with tears as he stood in front of her, battered and bruised. There was complete silence in the room as she stared at him in devastated horror, awareness crawling up her skin.

She shook her head, desperately trying to hold back the sobs that threatened to overwhelm her.

She had believed him.

Oh god, she had believed him.

She was so stupid.

Her heart was ripped out of its chest for the second time, the knife of betrayal plunged deep.

NK was supposed to be the man who was perfect for her. He was supposed to have been there for her, stood by her side. His beliefs matched hers, and he was a good man, with strong morals.

He was her friend, and he would have been something more. She had agreed to marry him, had just started to see him as something... more.

And he had betrayed her.

Cry as well as Clap

so we have finally reached the prologue...

eagerly waiting for the next update

Kya ye vo vaala AAP hai, ya uska BAAP hai ya father of the nation BAAPUJI hai? Wink. My apologies that I still did get not over the Delhi election cartoons.

The resistance is back in the story and it was an absolute hair raising update that you have conjured. Historical stories and crowd scenes are always the tough one to write. But you have excelled at both I have to say that you not only made us travel through time but also raised the patriotic fervor in us.

The choice of violence or ahimsa is apt even for this day and age. More than the choice, it was refreshing to read about the anguish, choices and sacrifices you have to go through even to choose the path of violence. Coming from a country where Gandhi and Bose are treated a martyrs, I am glad your story covered the common people of those times that they influenced, along with their similarities and differences. Khushi, for all her ahimsa, could not hold away from biting and NK for all his violent approach could not feel guilt of his actions.

For all the lovey dovey of the story before, I feel that you took this chapter whole different level and I don't think I am just not talking about the intensity and the story alone. It felt like every emotion that mattered was conveyed, every description that mattered was described and every angle of the story that had to be told was told. With all those verbs that I just used, it's no wonder that I did not even realize the absence of Arnav until the "Aap" was uttered Smile.

NK - I always looked at him to be a catalyst for Arnav and Khushi but I am slowly realizing my fault that he is lot more that. I tried typing and erasing a few sentences but nothing came close to what Mahatma Gandhi has said "A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act." I will just Amen to that.

Khushi - truly stuck between a rock and a hard place. What can I say, na Dil ki sun saki aur abhi na dimaak ki. Feels like she is at a cross roads with no signs. Every road she takes ends up getting her away from her destination and I am interested in seeing how she will hold up her end from here on.

Overall, I think this chapter gave me a whole different perspective of the story. I know this is still about Arshi but I admire your guts to introduce us to something bigger and also make us love you more doing that. Great going Choti and you have raised the expectations now.Clap

An absolutely brilliant peek into NK's mind Choti. You had me living through each ebb and flow of his feelings. I may not have agreed with what he did but I could understand him. The hot blood of youth chafing at constraints it has no patience with anymore.

The whole ambience which you created as they waited to listen to Gandhiji's speech was superlative. The palpable nervousness blended with excitement and anticipation was goose bump inducingly perfect.

I really liked the way you gave us a glimpse into NK's past as well, going some way in explaining the root of that anger simmering in him. His childhood scars having a bearing on the man today. His father's derision leaving a deeper impression than the gentle loving of his grandmother. "I'm proud of you." Words he yearned to hear from his father by all accounts, and words which uttered by his grandmother gave him the strength to do what he did.

My heart broke for Khushi. Kitna kuch sehna pad raha hain usse. Now what? Will her "Aap" make it alright?

And just so you know, I'm totally in awe of you and your writing my love  Heart

I will come back ... :)

Ah yes.. the lead into your prologue? The plot has certainly thickened.

Oh my dear dear NK.. he loves her, but he loves HER more.. his Maatr Bhoomi..

Looks like Khushi has made her choice, and Arnav is handed his choice [by Khushi] and NK has made his choice as well. How will the cards fall? This is truly intriguing now.

You've done it again Choti, you have presented your story with twists and turns, intrigue and heartbreak... with savvy and style. And.. it was a double update.. :)

And...That speech [by MKG] was well contextualized...

It was really well done.. Choti.. the story is coasting along well.. almost feels like its a lull before the storm. :)

I was excited and went back to the pre-independence era...where the youth looked upon Gandhiji and other congress leaders for guidance and how they would follow his foot steps in nonviolence...there were people like NK who thought nonviolence is of no use and we have to snatch our right from the british...poor khushi did not know what she has signed up by committing to NK...she even expressed her willingness to marry him...she thought that NK is a changed man and is willing to follow nonviolence...she has hoped to have a family with him...thought that he has same outlook as her...she is devasted right now...she would not have thought that of all the people NK would do that...I empathize with khushi...Brilliant chapter...thanks for the PM
