Oh the hope, the desperation, the helpless frustration in Manik's eyes when he was trying to make some sense of his, her, their lives!!! The crashing vulnerability just took my breath away. If I, as audience can feel his pain, how come Nandini can still be in denial?? She can so see the open uncertainty in his eyes, his hopes, his wishfulness, his futile battle with sheer desolation, his see sawing between all will be well and its never going to be the same again...She can so clearly see his need written all over him that he wants her in his life, like he wants oxygen to breathe, like day follows night, she is his necessity, his survival, his existence...
Somehow I had the impression that the tables had turned, but I guess the more things change, the more they remain the same. He is still the one who chases her around. He is still the needy one, begging her to come back to him. He is still watching out for and grabbing every opportunity to be with her, still seeking her out at every turn. Manik is still grabbing every single excuse he can to be close to her. And now, she is blocking him. He was hopeful that whatever transpired between them the previous night had melted away all inhibitions. The heat of passion had burned to cinders her resistance. If only, Manik, if only!! Seems the heat only forged the iron of her denial!! She seems more determined than ever to erase him from her life.
Or that's what she is showing him. She is letting him know in no uncertain words and crystal clear behavior that no...we are done. There was nothing and can be nothing between us. Yesterday was a mistake I have no intentions of acknowledging or repeating..ever!! And what's more I even refuse to talk about it!!
Sigh...have heard tons about Manik's ego, his pride but honestly the way he desperately seeks her out, I fail to see the culprit where Nandini is concerned. Seems with this girl he is all heart, no pride, no ego, no confidence, no airs, no subterfuge...nothing. She strips him bare to his soul. His emotions end up being all naked in front of her eyes. And yet, she denies.
And yes, he did put his finger on the spot...with Nandini its blow hot and blow cold every minute of the way. When she can't help herself she is sizzling, burning, scorching hot...but when her mathematical brain finally kicks in and regains sanity, she is freezing, frostbiting, heart numbing cold. Kudos to Manik and his patience...and I am talking about the same guy who just hadn't learnt how to wait for anything in life, a guy who never suffered anyone gladly. A guy who didn't give a hoot to anyone and yet here he is...bearing it all with a grin. Love and life teach us all...right Manik??
Nandini...why the denial?? Why play hide and seek behind a wall of illogical resistance. The cracks are visible to one and all, yet you insist that the wall is infallible. All this refusal is doing is causing heart aches everywhere, yet you blindly insist that its the best thing for both of you. The wall is paper thin, yet you stubbornly insist it can hold the storm called Manik?? Why the colossal lie?? Why the obvious fraud?? All cause of past pain?? All cause you believe in an idealistic and unrealistic concept of love?? All cause you think love only gives happiness?? TNo...love cannot be compared, there can be no common yardstick to measure love and happiness, there can be no conditions apply in love. Each love story is unique. Nandini...love is a myriad rainbow of emotions...its all glorious colors of life...its the greys of cloudy gloomy depression and the yellows of sunshine. It's the red of a rose and the colorless transparency of the dew drop on it. Its the black of the night and the white of the moon...resistance is futile!! Open your eyes to the fact that your denial is only giving pain...its harmful...this is what is toxic, pure acid eating away at every happiness...
The problem..Nandini your denial is fooling no one. The moment he uses Soha as a weapon, your unbridled and uncontrolled fury and jealousy says it all. You might deny him access till you are blue in your face, you might yell from roof tops that you don't love him, don't care for him an iota, that you don't want him in your life and want to move on...one look at your totally illogical and uncontrollable behavior around Soha and Manik and your denial is shot to pieces. It becomes a joke. Nandini's denial is a cruel, heartless prank that she insists on playing on herself cause Manik can see the cracks.
We all can guess, the Soha scenarios will get ugly, really nasty in future and yes we can kill Manik for recklessly playing with fire but the guy is at his wits end. And if this is the only way to make her react then so be it !! If this is the only way he can break her wall of blind denial, then so be it!! Soha for him is just a means to an end, an end he desires more than his life. And yes, sooner or later, Nandini will break. Her pull for Manik willl overpower every reservation. Her attraction towards the complex man will conquer every objection, every argument will be forgotten. Her resistance will shatter to pieces, her stubbornness will be shredded, her past pain, her mistrust will be forgotten or rather swept away in the tsunami called love. Nandini will soon realize that there is no happily ever after in love...finding love is a happy ending by itself.
P.S...sorry for the confused ramblings, my mind is skittering in different directions thanks to the reel and real world
