EHTs TRP in the last 2 months ensured that it ended up in the successful show list of 2014. When the news of EHT ending had come, the reason was put as low TRP and it was true also somewhere till early Oct.
If the TRP had not risen, the show that bought a difference would have been branded as a flop show. We might have to see lines like though interesting premise show didn't garner TRP hence channel decided to pull plug blah blah.

Fortunately the TRP rose and EHT though with a hurried ending ended up only in finite show section and success story of 2014 Tellybuzz.

Kudod to EHT team for thatClapClapClap. Atleast the actors hardwork didn't go in vain

Yes its slot leader in last week and UK success ensured it was not treated as a failure.
But some fan made sites are getting too carried away calling it best show in history of Indian television, which of course is not true. The potential was left unfulfilled.

I am happy only for the actors who gave it their all. Not for the channel, producer or writer if they think they made a masterpiece.

It is a mixed bag because some papers like Asian Age treated it as a big budget show that didn't take off.

The slot leader is also more due to JA committing harakiri by introducing leap and sidelining its main leads. I wouldn't fully credit EHT for attaining slot leader position on its own merit.

@Anu the fact that EHT is not termed as a failure may be give an oppourtunity to other different shows. See it gave a start and for all the bloopers it did we cant take away the credit that till the very end Durga was in driver's seat and they made Payal stand up to face Shaurya. As far as tellyworld is concerned atleast for the past 10 years or so ( I know it is a different story in DD era) a woman standing up asking for justice was def a landmark and harbinger of change in TV world.

If by any chance EHT had ended up in failure list, then producers may never even give a chance to such concepts. Atleast its success in whatever way ensured some changes we can see in future in story telling.

The only positives are EHT having strong female characters, making rape victim face her tormentor and slap the system, and it being a finite series with some strong actors who won awards and popularity.

It deserved to be encouraged as an attempt. But a lot of it is plain PR - I mean that "best in history" kind of stuff.

I would never count EHT as a flop show. Not even the time when I almost lost interest to the show. A flop show includes poor acting skills, poor concept and poor story. EHT doesn't fit into any of it.
Talking about leading during the finale episodes, it had to be successful because of the revealing system. Payal facing Shaurya alone and slapping and beating him. Sakshi lost her mental stability. Durga declaring that she is Nitya and all the rapists getting punished including the murderers. Although it was rushed but somewhere it was worth watching.

Tu Mera Hero got trp of 7.3 and was the biggest opener of 2014 for SP.
This proves my point that EHT finale ratings were not solely due to its own merit but due to very weak competition. People just took up any alternative they got at 8 PM.

JA is going down constantly because the leap has not gone well with viewers. BV is a train wreck with too many replacements and same old squabbles. DKDM had just ended. It was this weakening of rivals that gave EHT good ratings as people watched it as an alternative.

Otherwise its end was the most rushed, botched up, illogical one, full of bloopers and loopholes that marred the entire journey & build up of the show.

EHT is middling. Neither some great success. Nor entirely a failure.

@Anu before we judge Tu Mera hero's opening rating we have to be careful. When I read the comments in starplus site on Dec 22 there were many who looked SP as if they were still expecting EHT. Many who even put comments they were not aware EHT ending because the way they ended it on Sat.
Tu Mera Hero's first week TRP was 2.6 that means after the opening day the viewership did drop. So unless we see a drastic rise in Tu Mera Hero's rating we cant say EHT didn't deserve what it got. Also SP overall points came below 600 last week. I guess it was something 596. So ending EHT have impacted channel.

But on a side note I do expect Tu Mera Hero to be TRP grosser after just glancing the first epi and the promo I see during watching Everest. Because it is senseless and has all the candyfloss lovey dovey things which can get the TRP.

Life Ok has got something good in their hand post DKDM as the show from first week itself is topper on the channel and rightly so as even I am watching Mahakumbh.

Well the success of Mahakumbh in opening week even before entry of Gautam Rode and opening of Tu mera Hero prove that people were willing to watch any alternative on TV at 8 PM slot.
Point is not whether EHT deserved ratings or not. Point is that it did not earn ratings only and solely due to its merit but the weak competition had a lot to do with it managing TRP in end.

Many were aware EHT was ending. Promos of new show at 8 PM are an obvious sign and so was the rushing of EHT that end was near. People might have accidentally watched 1 episode of TMH but not stuck all week in hope of catching EHT.

Had competition been strong as it was in beginning of 2014 when EHT started then EHT wouldn't be slot leader at all especially given what a mockery it had become in last 2 weeks of its run.
