Zaki is a superstar alright and she still does not have all the answers. Sahir did this to her because he could not keep lying to her? But she still does not know why he was pretending in the first place! Thanks for the post.

You chose to behave like a victim. You decided to take you ex-wife's words to heart and govern yourself by a promise. You chose to behave like a criminal. You chose to burn down a factory. You chose to gamble with someone life. You chose to be a hypocrite. You sit there whining about how someone played with your feelings for money yet you chose to do the same to someone else.

Zaki is one of the most considerate and strongest side characters I have even seen. He LOST Arzoo to his brother. But he never chose to behave like a LOSER. This was a golden opportunity to make Saahir look evil in front of Arzoo but he is not into manipulation like others. He is not going to be governed by his loss. He didn't let this get under his skin and instead saw the bigger picture. If only everyone could see the BIGGER PICTURE?

Great post Sush! Your post about Zaki is bang on!  You third post about why Saahir is being so cruel and if this is a challenge? No lover challenges their love like this? It just goes to show he can trust anyone else nor be trusted himself. And lovely collages Shweta!

Red...at this point Zakis character has certainly been stronger...
But at the same time...Zaki has also chosen not to worry about family responsibilities...
Sahir is at a disadvantage...because he alone is bearing that burden...

Sure he made an over ambitious move when he mortgaged everything...people do that in business...right? Zaki is not even willing to acknowledge the trouble the family is in...

I think the rape thing is forced in...saw it in another serial...I think there the ML set the rape attempt up by an auto driver so that he can be the savior...think egg allergy scene...something along the line...YIKES...right?  It is a hot topic and they want to cash in...

Saahir is not blaming the world...is he? Did I miss something?
He said...he is making the choice to kill his Aarzoo...that is painful...but that's a pain he will live with...was there more?

Sush!

You and I always agree  . .except this time.  Sahir has chosen to bear the burden he's bearing. Saayara is successful and doesn't need the infusion of cash.  He just wants it to be bigger to prove something to a woman who won't know the difference. . . He's living in the past and is unable and unwilling to let go. . and while I like SAC's character - you can't blame others for the choices you have made which is what he's doing in his monologue . . if I heard him correctly he asks why is life playing this game with him? Why must he suffer or something to that effect.  The answer is simple: he's chosen the path he's on . .. sometimes life deals us a bad hand. . .and sometimes we are the authors of our own misery. . .

And on a totally frivolous note - I'm glad Arzoo and Sahir aren't getting married at the moment because who the heck calls their future husband "Sir"?  Seriously.Wink

Hi Indra...perhaps I missed some dialogues that indicated he was indulging in self pity...? But the self pity angle comes across not by Sahirs action...which actually make sense to me...but sometimes the explanation of why they should make sense...LOL.

To me what came across was that he was very sad...after breaking up with Arzoo...and was resolving to accept this ...

I couldn't agree more!!  He was sad yes, but I had a harder time feeling sorry for him than the majority; I think I'm with Lee when she basically told him to "suck it up" LOL

Without doubt, HC is doing a fab job in his portrayal of SAC, he's a very nuanced actor, and manages to dominate any scene in which he appears, very captivating indeed.

It's just the characterization of Sahir that I sometimes have difficulty  with . As a suave ,successful, demanding at times businessman, with a sense of fairness in his dealings...no problem. As a devoted ,dedicated son and brother...no problem. As a concerned yet wounded husband awaiting the fate of his errant (?) comatose wife...I get it.  I actually admire his loyalty as many men would have moved on already. Falling hard for Arzoo, understandable. He's lonely, starved for affection and acceptance , it's only natural. His conflict re his feelings and response to Arzoo, I get that too, after all he's still married and affected  by Zeenat's present circumstance. So far...so good.

What I have difficulty with is his inability, or refusal to move forward with his life and in so doing punishing and torturing himself ( and others?) so severely. And for what, a deal? To prove a point to someone in a coma, re a promise made 7+ years ago ? This characterization of a deep dark tormented soul just doesn't gel with a promise made ,even if the 22 yr old wife cheated, lied, insulted whatever!!  There better be something more insidious or else this dark obsessive behavior rings hollow to me, especially if Zeenat was just a harridan!

Not to belabor the point, but many people endure extreme hardships everyday, harsh, life threatening , horrific things . In the scheme of life, a cruel uncaring partner should not produce such obsessive, destructive behavior after so long. If he was a friend, we might recommend him to get professional help, deal with it, move on etc. Something is just not adding up IMO, yes he's in pain but so are other characters, and pain is pain! We can't quantify it as being more than another's pain, we may handle if differently, but...it's still pain.  The reason for his tormented life seems to be the basis of this show, let's  hope that his dark characterization  will be justified by the eventual back story...and soon! It's just not that convincing to me at this point.

Lee...my opinion is ...no back story was needed for him to want to make Saiyara a Fortune 500 company...people take risk, and bet everything in business...that's how capitalism works...no justification needed...no excuse was needed...it is Okay to want to take risk...and it is human to bet everything and sometimes even manipulate things...remember Linus from Sabrina? Why did we need Zeenat's promise...to bring that in?

Agree why Zeenat? I think makers have realized it as well and hence Zeenat is now like a ghost. Just her name is there. I have a feeling that somehow she will pass away and we may not see her at all

Indra and Lee I too dont feel sorry for Sahir. IT was his own grave that he dug upLOL Seriously he just needed to tell her the truth and then live with consequences.

Zaki I am not sure if he even knows what is on stake?
