At last, JandA and their entourage arrive in Amritsar. From the airport to the village, they travel by rented car. (Obviously Jassi's condition this time puts a tractor out of the question!😳) As they arrive at the house, surrounded by a rustic courtyard and entered by a makeshift gate, Beauty lets out a squeal of joy. Nandu looks delightedly at her. Bua simply sighs in relief. "Chalo ji…..aakhir apne pind pahunch hi gaye!"
Bebe: (beaming) Khuli hawa mein saans leke kitna achcha lag raha hai.
Puru: What a charming place! Kyun Ila?
Ila smiles weakly. She has taken in the house and is clearly apprehensive about staying here. Angel looks like she is about to faint.😕 But Meghna is cheerful. "Kitni quiet, quaint place hai!"
Chaman: Kya place hai ji?
Meg: Quaint…..oh, never mind😆….Auntie, mujhe toh mazaa aa raha hai…..yahaan raat ko kitna exotic lagta hoga na…charon taraf sannata……door door tak sirf 2-3 ghar…….
Angel shivers. "Megs, please daraon mat…..mujhe already uss road ke potholes se backache ho rahi hai….ab main aage ki nahin soch sakti…."
Chaman: Mere paas Iodex hai ji…..
Angel glares at him and he sneaks off sheepishly.
Billu: Arre….Jassi aur Armaan kahaan hai?
JandA are stealing a kiss in the back of the car😛. He pulls away finally and smiles, "So….aakhir hum aa hi gaye!" (was that a meaningful glance?😉)
Jassi: (blushing) Haan…….waapas Amritsar.😳
Armaan: (aredently) Jassi….mujhe pichla sab kuch yaad aa raha hai…..yahan pe tum mujhse naaraz hokar ayi thi….aur tumhe laga tha ki main main nahin aaunga…..lekin main aaya na…
Jassi: Armaan, mujhe tumhare pyaar par kabhi shak nahin tha…par shayad haalat ne mujhe daraa diya tha….agar us waqt mujhe koi batata ki hum sab, ek saath, yaahan rehne aayenge toh mujhe vishwaas hi na hota……mujhe toh abhi bhi yeh ek sapna-sa lag raha hai…..
Armaan: Nahin Jassi…yeh haqeeqat, sapne se bhi zyada khoosurat hai…!!
Nandu discovers them and taps the window smartly. "Aap logon ka andar chalne ka iraada hai ki yahin par saari chhuti guzaarenge?"
Jassi goes red with embarrassment. Armaan comes out and gives Nandu a friendly punch. Then he bends to help Jassi out. They enter the house together, she with her hand on his arm. The others are enjoying the cool interior of the house, although there is no electricity. Angel fans herself so agitatedly that she looks more heated up than ever. Meghna is wandering inquisitively around the room, taking in the "exotic" quality of the place, not much to Bua's pleasure.
After a while Beauty enters with glasses of lassi, which everyone except Angel snatch up eagerly. Even Ila seems keen to try it. Meghna closes her eyes. "Wow….buttermilk! Auntie…(turning to Ila) …..isse face be lagaane se….."
She launches off into a detailed description of the ideal beauty routine, while JandA gaze slyly at each other and hide their laughter.
Armaan downs his glass so hastily that when he puts it down, there is a milky moustache on his upper lip. 😃Beauty giggles and jassi bursts out laughing. Armaan looks in surprise at them. Beauty brings down a mirror from the wall and shows him what he looks like. He stares for a moment and then breaks into a dimpled grin.
Armaan: (sneakily putting his arm around Jassi from behind ❤️) Ab isme meri kya galti hai….Beauty ne banayi hi itni achchi lassi hai….aakhir saali kiski hai!
Beauty looks embarrassed while the others laugh at her red face.
Jassi can't resist shooting back, "Hmm…lagta hai Amritsar aate hi sirf saali yaad rahi, biwi ko bhool gaye!"
Armaan: (wickedly) umm….jab saath mein Jassi ho aur saali ki banayi hui lassi ho, toh choice zaraa mushkil ho jaati hai….aakhir, lassi jaisi koi nahin!
Everyone bursts out laughing; Armaan steals the opportunity to pull Jassi's dupatta off her shoulder, so innocently that no one notices.😉 Jassi tries most unsuccessfully to glare at him. His dimples are enough to melt her completely.😳
