In Maharashtra, this festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated as Narali Poornima . The fisherman community of Maharashtra Known as Kolis celebrate this festival as Narali Poornima. They offer prayers to Lord Varuna on the day of Raksha Bandhan (Narali Poornima). All the Marathi people are very much excited about the celebration of Narali Poornima (Raksha Bandhan).
