Episode 602 Discussion: 17th June 2014, Tuesday

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite.  That's very apt, don't you think ? πŸ˜‰. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is
  1. It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter
  2. We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
  3. It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
  4. And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Note for All posting reviews and thoughts over this EDT

Please read the pointers below for posting on EDT.

Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. This is anentertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated.  Neither is ranting or bashing actors or makers of the show.  Please exercise judgment.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread.
  1. Page 1 - post only reviews (which can be one liners - if you wish.)  Also, please don't clutter up page 1 with multiple posts - give others a chance to post their reviews.
  2. Many reviewers add an "ETA" to their original post, if they want to make an additional point soon after posting.
  3. Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more and the discussion becomes irrelevant to the topic on hand, please take your conversation with your buddies to chat clubs, pm mode etc.
  4. The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating /whining / complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum
  5. When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.
  6. Regulate the font size and colors. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters, or multi-colored font for no special reason.
  7. Quoting Policy: refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis.  Pick out the parts that you like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post.   IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, and multiple quoting makes it very hard to scroll though.
  8. Feel free to post links of other members posts which had been "delightful read" towards analysis of episodic event/s or character analysis.

Cheers,

As expected...Raja managed to get out of this situation. This rape case was having plenty of loop holes... I don't understand, when CVs decided to take up a social cause ** marital rape case .. have they ever researched about the laws n proceedings? I mean, how can they show such a sensitive issue without any logic and realistic approach? In the court, nobody talked about medical check up and reports? Its important to prove the case. BUT super brains rushed things...confused minded guys.

And in what or which angle Madhu looked like a rape victim? She don't have any defense...no proofs...NOTHING. Somebody please tell her...only shouting to the core never helps in every situation. And now what happened to her dignity...her self respect...her righteous..fearless nature? Why didn't she disclosed in the court that she has been threaten by Raja? or her family member is in danger due to this case? Nonsense characterization.

I hope CVs will build next track carefully...many things are yet to disclose.. Like...Raja's parents death, Madhu's birth secret...RK_Madhubala connection to Madhu... RK_Madhu death secret...  But to be frank, MB CVs have forgotten all this important aspects and trying their LUCK in 'alag che' tracks.

utter shame..burai ki jeet phir se.😑.this happens only in mb land..πŸ˜”hate raja.he is in the same category as ak and sultan.😑..not a bit of guilt on his face and smirking away  after committing so many crimes...😑..rajbala are already dead for me..πŸ˜”...want madhu to start a new life..😊..and get rid of this gawar criminal raja..πŸ‘ŽπŸΌbtw. if .cvs had taken this sensitive subject they should have made madhu winning  the case and raja repenting..but they have spoiled it again..πŸ‘ŽπŸΌEdited by Drashti13 - 9 years ago

Rather relieved if the CVs truly finally climbed off their blinkered crusading track, and apparently wrapped it with a case-dismissal.
Such a track of female lead crusading for herself might perhaps be more prudent to wait until we actually have the law existing and at least a hope of enough millions of viewers suddenly with a taste for depressingly strident and socially progressive daily tracks, rather than a wife who has no way to prove any harm to herself and yet bizarrely the case not being thrown out at the start itself.

The episode was well enough - except for the lady lawyer who is an outstanding example of an unnecessary and ludicrously melodramatically incompetent character. But really hope they manage to hold to the belatedly noncrusading tone in tomorrow's episode as well.
If an 'interesting' social-crusade track is packaged in a way foreseeably sure to not get enough millions of viewers, it may be wondered whether the CVs/channel explained to everyone who might have money riding whether they might be willing to lose money for a track about a law that is not even existent, so that everyone can share the feeling of salt of viewership-lack rubbed into the injury of the not-yet-existent law.

No series can show a track that is not the channel's own idea or permitted - as potentially viewership-getting - by the channel.
And yet the channel's total viewership has sunk every month, until it's now a flagship channel in competition with Star's subsidiary channel LifeOK.

And most concerning, a lead-couple marital-rape track going into a court-case, despite excellent viewership always coming for this sort of track in many versions if the female lead wife covers it up, causing the male lead husband to atone, and the couple then reconciling - usually with maximum one or two relatives knowing of the incident.

The only time such track has got appreciable viewership for an upheaval social-crusade angle is if the couple is *not* the lead couple.

And yet, the channel thought this would work (either as their idea or with their permission), when it never has before in a decade or two.

Did the CVs collectively get confused between the majority's reactions to rape and marital rape as two very different concepts, both socially and legally? (If the two concepts had been declared one - even only legally -, the celebrations would have perhaps been visible on the channel's sister-news-channels as well.)

Or did they not notice that a track of wife striking out against the husband legally to get him sentenced gets enough millions of viewership only if mass-audience prefers her pairing with someone else.

If the mass-audience don't really want to see her with someone else, then they don't start watching - her crusading, his punishment, and what-not - until the court and jail have been wrapped and left behind and the track moves past that unvaryingly mass-unacceptable angle that not enough millions watch, to the couple-together angle that - when presented mass-appealingly - gets watched by staggeringly enough millions of viewers month after month and year after year in viewership-satisfactory serials.

Don't know whether this upcoming Thursday's TRP for the past week - which will apparently decide the fate of this series for weeks, a month, longer or not - will be up or down, but it may assuredly be in the channel's general league of viewership-amounts.

A female lead becomes mass-perceived as mahaan and gets mass-support for righteous crusades
only after months of episodes of her completely forgoing self-respect to preserve her marriage and her sasuraal's prestige.
Without that, she stands not on a pedestal of mass-support but rather an unfortunate position of mass-disapprobation.

In the former case, if that female lead says day is night, the mass-audience will still want her to be proved right, and will watch everyday in reassuringly adequate millions of viewership.

In the latter case, they will not watch to provide the needed millions of viewership until after the track is totally over and done with, not particularly considering her traditionally admirable enough to watch her travails, her speeches, or whether she wins or loses.
The mass-viewership may start to resume after all evidence of that crusade has been swept out of sight, including the much-used court- and jail-set.

Just hope that from tomorrow onwards this series avoids social-service messages and mass-unappealing crusade-tracks, and lets the lead couple's story get sorted out with conservatives-appealing reconciliation.
Logic has been cast aside for abominable tracks so many times, it would be a pleasant change if logic is cast aside for a pleasing track of the lead couple.
It would then be after 15 months that we would see a track of the lead couple pleasingly presented in this series, rather than depressing negativity-filled tracks of the lead couple disunited and/or conflicting.
Would like to see - after 15 months of foreseeably mass-unappealing tracks carving the TRP from 3+ spectrum to 1+ spectrum - a new track not sure at its very start of getting inadequate viewership in the upcoming weeks.
A mass-acceptable pleasing track storyline featuring the lead couple, without any attempt to try to project the female lead as mahaan.
The degree of humiliation she would have to smilingly accept to be considered even remotely mahaan by mass-audience, most of us would prefer to avoid seeing in this series as it would be many times more than this series has ever shown. And without that, majority-audience could be counted on to not support the female lead in anything, no more now than in their consistently proven tastes year after year.

Just a new mass-acceptable track, ignoring this nonsensical track which tried to project that of the two victims, one was the culprit and the other was the lone victim.
An upcoming track for however little or much duration remains of this series, to build love and mutual respect and caring between the lead couple (not engineered dialogues and sympathy-gambits that never work in any series). Something that the mass-audience may be agreeable to see in enough millions rather than the CVs ideas of 'interesting'.
A track that might actually be expected to get watched by the mass-audience that has had unvaryingly consistent viewership-tastes year after year, ensuring very expectable results for every track-factor.
Fingers crossed that this time, the CVs no longer flub up and the new track may actually be expected to be mass-appealing.

Liked this episode for the most part, and was particularly relieved at the absence of any further unrealistically inaccurate speeches about women's rights (not including the ignorable lady lawyer's contributions) - hope it's not compensated for in any forthcoming episode, and also that there may be no more forcefeeding of social-crusading (that provenly not enough millions of viewers were interested in seeing) at the expense of the lead couple's much-anticipated love-story. Really hope to be able to like the next episodes as well. Please?

Initially there shouldn't be a rape caused by the lead, and then there shouldn't be an example that the criminals won...

I'm OK with the criminals winning because he is an antagonist and villain gets away with their criminal acts for the time being!

Hate Raja Rani, but loved VD, not DD that much!

Haven't seen the epi, but frm reading the wu, saari hekdi nikal gayi jm Ki? Woh bhi itni jaldi? Ban gayi misal?

frm my watching experience, I'm assured that Mb Ki mahilayaein r fit for just one job..that is, to curse...woh bhi, pk unki kabhi nai sunte...

may be the intelligent soul who thought about this idea of rape track was being very thoughtful and he was a great gambler, but execution is where nf have failed frm the last 1 yr..

neel, tell me. What else can they show? The male lead getting acquitted or convicted? Both ways they don't have a story..they cant show raja in jail or phasi par..they cannot show him getting punished , marital rape is not a crime yet..so chalo,, saara jhamela khatam..now they r heading for the end..raja and jr Madhu will know that bhanu is behind all this, usko maaro aur kahani khatam karo by uniting rajbala..or let bhanu kill both..

its simple, baiji Ki death , Madhu is not responsible and for rape, raja is not responsible..if he was not, drugged, he wouldn't have molested or raped her..lets make peace with the facts..

@Charu: Raja won because Madhu take back her acquisition of rape...

Raja's goons kidnapped Radhaji and Raja phoned madhu, if she doesn't withdraw her case, Radhaji will be killed,
so, Madhu has no other choice other than withdrew her case...

What a tragic end for the much awaited social message, woman empowerment etc..πŸ‘. Could NF opted for better option to wind up this track? How did Raja contact JM while still in custody? Is it not an offence? So  End of marital abuse  and the wife forgives repenting husband..Now  precisely this is why marital rape is not yet considered a crime. To save the institution of marriage. How I wish  this really happened   resulting in some character growth of  Raja and JM... Didn't they think about the constraints before ?   After all their hero could not be convicted   ..And Raja😑.Again a.scapegoat to clear this mess..MAKE HIM a hardcore  disgusting criminal..As per tradition of MB this won't be mentioned in the show again and no  repentance. I admired VD ..putting his best for this hopeless character. Liked his expressions in the court..

Was it Raja's voice? I was not sure..
