Did anyone try to talk "truce" in the midst of the war, being put off by the massacre taking place?

Or was the Udyoga Parva the only case of "peace negotiations"?

Sudeshna is such a Manthara in Star

Bharat. Cant imagine what she would come up with Ouch

Bheeshm did. Even after his fall on the arrow bed, he uttered:

"Let this battle end with my death".
