BV CVs are defying the dominant mood and how!!
At a time when efforts are being made to get more women into politics ( we have an external affairs minister for the first time after Indira; and Anandi's namesake has become CM in Gujarat), BV chooses to show male political empowerment!!
When the country is in a state of shock over the spate of morbid rapes and murders in Uttar Pradesh and rise in sexual crimes against women elsewhere, BV shows two counter trends:
1)a rapist is indulged by his victim who thinks this the way to keep the family united
2) a government employee is shown to be a nympho at the 8 pm time slot. this from a channel that pretends to be coy and refuses to show close romance even between married couples
If the PA track had a proper back story and she and her boyfriend were plotting against Shiv it makes sense. But it turns out the BF was not even aware of what the PA was up to since leaving him.
So he gets together with her simply because he has heard the news.
What is the point of this? That women can be nymphos? Of course they can be, but what sense does it make for BV to show this?
What baffles me is the conduct of the PA who is shown as a serial sexual predator.
How come she did not create trouble for her former boss when, after obviously enjoying her company, he gave her the heave-ho?
She says she is upset with him for ignoring her. But she goes for Shiv who has no interest in her. And when she claims she badly needs the job.
How did she get this job in the first place? PAs in government service have to go through proper recruitment procedures. She can't just walk into jobs with a voracious sexual appetite as her only qualification.
It is clear from Shiv's frustrations that she is not pulling her weight in the office. So how indeed did she get the job?
I find it difficult to digest that she has no interest other than sex and her husband is oblivious to this fact.
