40 Tamil Films for the 61st Award event

National award is one of the proud recognition given to people associated with Cinema industry in India. The awards were instituted and given by the Government of India.

The award ceremony has been held for 60 years and the upcoming one will be the 61st edition. For this edition the entries accepted till February 14, 2014.

As many as 40 films from the Tamil film industry have been sent for contesting for the awards to be given in 30 categories that include, Best Film. Best Regional, Best Actor and Actress, Best Director etc. Best Music, Cinematography, Editing.

Sound designing, Play back Singing, Production design, supporting actor/actress are also awarded every year. There are National awards for Best Children's film and Best Animation film.
