Rajput and Bhatt are set to star in Homi Adajania's next, which will see two romantic stories set in different eras

From page 4 After days of speculation, it can be finally confirmed that Sushant Singh Rajput is set to romance Alia Bhatt in Homi Adajania's untitled next. Interestingly, the actors will be part of not just one, but two love stories in the film "set in different eras".

"Since Sushant and Alia have never worked together, the pairing will be fresh. But makers have cast them together mainly because they fit their parts perfectly. Homi was looking for an unusual pair that could also deliver strong performances. And after mulling over it for some time, he and Dinesh (Vijan; producer) zeroed in on the two actors," says an insider.

A team of experts from Hollywood " for make-up, special effects, etc. " is going to be roped in for "accurate" looks. "In all likelihood, it's going to be Homi and Dinesh's biggest film in terms of budget. Preproduction work has already started," adds the insider.

The film is likely to go on the floors mid-next year. By then, Sushant will be done with a major part of the work associated with the Mahendra Singh Dhoni biopic and also the shooting for Shekhar Kapur's next, while Alia would have finished Vikas Bahl's new film. "The makers might issue an official announcement very soon," adds the insider. When contacted, Homi refused to comment.

Homi Adajania whose recent outing at the box office in the form of Finding Fanny fared rather well, has now moved onto his next venture. Though the director is busy with the adaptation of the Hollywood film The Fault in our Stars, we hear that Homi has roped in Sushant Singh Rajput for yet another film of his. Commenting on Sushant being part of the film, the actor's spokesperson says, "Yes, Sushant is excited about doing a film with Homi Adajania and Dinesh Vijan. But it is too early to talk about it."

Though Sushant's spokesperson refrains from divulging more details, we hear that Alia Bhatt has been cast alongside the actor in the yet untitled film. While the film is said to be a love story spanning across generations, with Sushant and Alia playing lovers set in different eras. 

If that wasn't enough, the untitled venture is touted as Homi and Vijan's biggest movie in terms of budget and is likely to go on the floors mid-next year, while the pre-production work of the movie has already started.

Any Bollywood actor or actress would surely kill for a role in a film being directed by Rajkumar Hirani. For actor Sushant Singh Rajput, he initially had reservations to take up a role in PK due to the short appearance of his character. According to an Indian newspaper, Sushant was approached by Hirani after his debut in Kai Po Che and despite having mixed feelings about taking up the role, his close friends convinced him to do it. For an actor who is only a few films old, this was undoubtedly an unbelievable opportunity for Sushant.

A character in a Hirani film normally does not go unnoticed and this was largely why Sushant chose to take it up. Surely, he must be relieved at the fact that he's made the right choice. His latest song Chaar Kadam' with Anushka Sharma has received unanimous praise and positive feedback has been given on the pairing of these two actors. Despite his appearance being labelled as brief, Sushant has managed to get people talking about his appearance. He will reportedly play a key character in the film.

Sushant requests head massages on set 

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput (left) seems to be enjoying his time shooting for filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee's upcoming film, which is set in the 1940s. The director is going to great heights to ensure that his set looks authentic and even has a barber oiling the hair of his cast before every shot, to suit the style of the time. Taking advantage of this situation, his lead actor, Sushant, asks for a relaxing head massage once in a while. "A special corner was created on the set which was only for hair styling, and before the shoot would begin, the cast would have a session with the barber. Sushant loves this corner and often makes a special request for a head massage," says a source, close to the actor.

Along with hair style and the costumes, the director is taking care of minute details. "Along with the installation of 1940's infrastructure, special measures have been taken in getting the look right," adds the source.
