Rama, if I can take the thought for the day today?
I was watching the movie 'Blind Side' starring Sandra Bullock just now and suddenly there were these words that made me think of Sandy straight away and her situation.
In this scene, the boy has to write an essay on Alfred, Lord Tennyson's poem The Charge of the Light Brigade. About a group of 600 men who charged in to fight come what may...
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
and so the boy starts writing down his thoughts about courage...
Courage is a hard thing to figure..you can have courage based on a dumb idea ...or a mistake..
you're not supposed to question adults...or your coach...or your teacher..because they make the rules...
maybe they know best...or maybe they don't...
It all depends on who you are...where you come from.
That's why courage is tricky.
Should you always do what others tell you to do?
Sometimes you may not even know why you're doing something. I mean...any fool can have courage.
But honour! That's the real reason you either do something or you don't.
It's who you are and maybe who you want to be.
If you die trying for something important, then you have both honour and courage.
Leave alone Sandy, this is the kind of courage that means something and makes a life precious.
