As dr ashutosh n nishu came to the breakfast table , ashutosh was surprised to find sooji ka halwa...as nidhi sat n requested mrs hudson to get the rest .usual continental stuff cereal,milk, bread n fresh finger chips for nishu..as he smiled n said"thank you aunty"mrs hudson smiled n have toasted bread to dr ashutosh..nidhi took the toast and began to butter it..mrs hudson was surprised..."but thought dr had his bread plain...didnt he"??nidhi smiled...n said "actually...i apply the butter...he likes it that way..."mrs hudson seemed dazed n confused as zaffar who had been arranging dr ashutosh's files said"mrs hudson you wouldnot understand...this is indian love!!"and mrs hudson stormed back into the kitchen asdr ashutosh continued breakfast without any reaction...when nidhi served him halwa...he said"arre halwa..baba ka favourite..chalo abhi baba ko phone karenge..." nidhi looked at the ISTclock she had put in the room.."nahi abhi lunch ke baad so rahe honge ..shaam hogi wahaan tab karenge..."and dr ashutosh seemed to agree as he said"chalo ..lets chalk out our plan..."as nidhi settled on the sofa , dr ashutosh gave zafgar a 10 note n said"you can take nishu to the candy store at the crossing...but plz be careful"nishu seemed delighted as he dragged his jacket n gloves n ashutosh made him wear them..."jaldi aana zaffar'"said nidhi..n zaffar smiked as he lifted nishu in his arms...
"Look nidhi, apart from london, lets drive up to windermere n then pitlochry in scotland...then come back n rest in london for two days and then take the eurorail..the underwater one to paris..you can go up the eiffel tower.."nidhi gleamed n said"and aap nishu ko disney land le jayieyga..i mean i will also come but rides pe to nahi ja sakti na..."ashutosh smiled with a strange softness in his eyes..n continued..."and then we can take the euro rail to netherlands...amsterdam...bolo kya kehti ho"?? Nidhi asked"switzerland...cant we go there"??dr ashutosh smiked"jaan, it d be v cold aur tum mt titlis ya jaungfraugh ki cable cars me to jaa nahi sakogi...so why the strain..."??ashutosh sounded almost apologetic...nidhi smiled"to aisa kyun na karein...ki bus paris se laut aayein..aur phir england mei hi kahin chlein...i mean aap to jaante honge"!!ashutosh smiled"thats a brilliant idea...we could go to kent...thand bhi kum hogi...you d love it...bahut beautiful hai...i d start getting the bookings made...europe ke liye next year aayenge..."nidhi blushed"next year nahi...us se agle saal...next year to woh bahut choti hogi...manage nahi kar paaoongi..." dr ashutosh smiled ...his most loving smile and seemed to say.."yes doc...you are right..."
Zaffar returned with nishu n a pack of candies ..as he gave the change ..nidhi looked at dr asutosh mn told zaffar to keep it..n then said"ruko zaffar...aapke liye india se ek chota sa gift laayi hoon..."n she went in and got the packets...a lovely silk vasket with embroudery n a raw wool muffler ...zaffar was moved"mam..iski kya zuroorat thi..."nidhi smiledn said"zaffar..zuroorat thi..yahaan pe tum aur mrs hudson hi to humari family ho...family ko gift dena to banta hai na...bolo..."??n then called mrs hudson ..n gave her the lovely embroidered shawl from fab india n a kashmiri teacozy"oh wow!!so beautiful..so ethenic..i am delighted..thank you madam.." nidhi smiled and said"one favour ...can you plz call me nidhi..."??mrs hudson tried"nidi...nidi...nishooo "n zaffar smiled"aisa lagta hai ki steam engine bol raha ho,.."!!!
Zaffar had got the tickets for 2 p.m.ride of londin eye, and as nidhi was dressing up, ashutosh shouted from nishu's room"nidhi plz thermal pehen na ander...zuroor" nidhi smiled as she put a hand on her belly..."tumhari fikr ho rahi hai...meri nahi" and to her surprise , she felt dr ashutosh's hands covering hers"jee nahi...tumhaare saath saath uski fikr ho rahi hai...aur yeh tum achchi tarah se jaanti ho.."!!nidhi smiled n nodded"jaanti hoon...dadi bua theek hi kehti hain..."ashutosh raised an eyebrow"kya kehti hain..tumhari dadi bua"??..."ki aapne mujhe sir chadha diya hai.."!!and dr ashutosh just smiled and pulled her to him...
As they sat in the car, with zaffar driving ..and came to the crossing before the westminster , as the familly got down n ashutosh told zaffar"zaffar, i d call you when we are done..you can go now"and as he helped nidgi put on her overcoat , holding her by the waist...n carrying nishu in his arms , they came to the london eye..."my god ..sooo beautiful..n big ..just love it..."...ashutosh smiled...knowing how excited she was.."uupar se view achcha hai..youd love it..."as the queue moved, nidhi nishu n ashutosh came into the sitting wagon..there was another couple, a young one at that..from india..it seemed.as the wheel started...dr ashutosh instinctively held nidhi tighter to him...his eyes seemed to be asking"are you okay"??n hers answered"jee theek hoon main..."as the eye moved, slowly n steadily, ashutosh let nishu stand ..holding the bars..as he got nidhi to see the view.."dekho..woh ..tower of london..where mary the queen of scots was executed..."nidhi nodded adding"and anne boleyn ..king henry viii wife..also isnt it"??dr ashutosh seemed surprised"tum history jaanti ho.."?? Nidhi smiled and said"in school, i was very good at history...baba ki wajah se mbbs karna pada..nahi to mai to travel guide banti..Saari duniya ghoomiye..nidhi verma.ke saath..."ashutosh had a deep look in his eyes...he had actually never known this facet of nidhi...she d really enjoy london..if she loves history...he thought..he pointed to her cleopetra's needle..the egyptian tower on the banks of the river thames n then the majestic westminster..the seat of the british parliament..and ashutosh was further surprised as nidhi added on to the details he gave her...and then as the ride was coming to an end...he remembered the photos...he clicked nidhi n nishu..with changing backgrounds n then requested the co travellers to click for the family...as he gathered nishu n nidhi in his arms...it was the first memory of what was going to be a wonderful trip..CLICK...

As they came out , nidhi asked"thames cruise pe chalein..."??ashutosh shook his head.."aaj nahi...kal..too much of strain not good for you...waise bhi..it might rain...dekho baadal..."nidhi looked up as the first few raindrops fell on her face..and she kind of shivered...they came into mcdonald's close by..much to nishu's delight...nidhi took nishu to order as dr ashutosh sat by the window seat..looking at his nidhi n nishu...lil nishu pointing at stuff on the display menu...finally they returned carrying two veggie burgers for themselves,two pepsies, and a baked wrap for dr ashutosh with his favourite cappachino...n then nidhi went back to come with loads of fingerchips...as a shocked ashu remarked"itni frech fries kaun khaayega"??.."mai aur aapka beta...we love french fries..."ashutosh smiled"pata hai na kitna oil hota hai..not good for health"!!nidhi shot back"my dear husband..once in a while khaane se kuch nahi hota...aur aapse 18 saal choti hoon...to abhi kuch saal to finger chips khaa sakti hoon..." 😉 As they enjoyed the meal,it became bright outside and they walked to sit on a bench near the london eye...overlooking the thames..as dr ashutosh bought balloons for nishu and then came to sit with nidhi...who seemed to be oulling her coat closer ..."are you feeling cold"??nidhi replied"nah..not really..."dr ashutosh got uo n clicked nishu playing in the grass with the boats in the back ground n then a "selfie"for himsel n nidhi with london eye in the backdrop...and just as he put the camera in his pocket...all of a sudden it began to drizzle...as he rushed nidhi n nishu to a cafe close by...observing that nidhi's hands we trembling...her woollen coat also wet...ashutosh panicked"nidhi take off the coat...bloody its not waterproof...my fault...lo mera pehno..."and he took off the coat and slipped his...the huge coat almost engulfed nidhi...dr ashutosh got hot coffee and as they sipped..the drizzle changed into snow fall...nidhi seemed mesmerised..."beautifulll ...just too beautiful...thanx dr ashutosh...mujhe snowfall dekhane ke liye...i wish i could walk in the snow...long long walks...aapke saath"ashutosh took her hand n smiled"iss haalat mei nahin...exposure can harm you...i dont want to take any risk..with you nidhi...not this time..."but then trying to brighten her he added"aur waise car tak walk to kerna hi padega na..."and nidhi's eyes seemed to light up...with joy a joy that was almost child like...ashutosh kept looking at nidhi...who was looking at the snow fall...finally realising that they should go back, he dialled zaffar to get the car...and then as they stepped out..it was bone chilling ..nishu pulling his cap closers said"papa...so cold..."ashu picked him up..blowing hot breath on his nose as he held nidhi securely by the waist n watching her steps ..lest she slips...as they reached the car..ashu almoat shoved nidhi in...followed by nishu n himself..zaffar switched on the heater..as ashutosh rubbed nidhi's hands...poor nishu ,feeling left out said"papa...mere bhi,..."and dr ashutosh smiled...at his young son...feeling almost jealous!!!
As they changed, nidhi rubbed her hair dry..and wore her thicpk woollen gown...and came to sit in the bedroom...ashutosh seemed to be observing her...n as he settled nishu in bed, he came n rubbed her soles...nidhi drew her feet"kuch nahi hua hai..bekaar worry ker rahe hain aap..."ashutosh kept quiet...n then said"chaai mangwaata hoon...hot tea..infact khud banaata hoon.."nidhi smiled"adrak wali chaai"!!
As the two sat sipping tea,dr ashutosh remarked"ab to der ho gayee, kal first thing baba se baat karenge ..col verma se bhi..aur i feel id talk to sudhir as well...he at least must know..."as nidhi kept the mug and dr ashutosh sat by her lazily, h asked,"ek baat poochoon..."as always nidhi smiled n said"ek kyun huzaar poochiye..."dr ashutosh came closer"tumhe pata kaise nahi chala..."nidhi lowered her eyelids"bus..i really dont know...aapki packing...then...dr dubey ki beemaari..i was so busy...thak jaari thi...yeh khayaal hi nahi raha...i am sorry dr ashut..."ashutosh kept a finger on her lips..no nidhi...you dont have to be sorry...its me who is at fault..tumhe itne nazuk mode pe akele chod aaya...just not fair...aur you know..maine do maheene...jab tumhe itni care ki zuroorat thi...dhyaan nahi diya..."nidhi smiled...n touching dr ashutosh's bearded cheek said"koi baat nahi...mai aur aapki beti..poori kasar nikaal lenge...is baar aap bhi leave leke dhyaan rakhiyega...uska delivery ke baad...aakhir do do bache dekhne honge...our nishu should not feel neglected..."ashutosh nodded"koi neglect nahi hoga...na nishu aur na tum..."and slowly...tenderly , he placed his hand on her belly...trying to make up for the two months when he had not known that...that his child was on its way..into their world...that their dream was finally being fulfilled...nidhi covered his hand ...as he bent to take her lips...a gesture of gratitude...for making his world so beautiful..so vibrant ..so complete...nidhi opened her lips in response...as the two held each other...waiting for their beautiful future...
In the morning, nidhi's vomits seemed rather bad...as she threw up repeatedly..and a worried ashu pressed a coke to her lips..."dr ashutosh.."...and she just put her head on his shoulder...as dr ashutosh patted her"hey..nidhi!!dont worry...its morning sickness...you d be fine..."nidhi looked at him..pouting she said"woh to mai jaanti hoon...aapki haalat dekh ke zyaada beemaar feel ker rahi hoon...you look as if i am dying,.."!!dr ashutosh seemed to flare..."can you stop talking nonsense...plz..."and began to dial ...nidhi wondered where..."hi sudhir...yaar are you free"??sudhor seemed relaxed as he told ashutosh to go ahead.."well sudhir..to make the long story short..nidhi is pregnant..."sudhir seemed elated"MY GOD!!PER ITNI JALDI??LIKE SHE HAS JUST REACHED..."ashutosh seemed a lil embarassed as he said"actually..sudhir...she had concieved sometime back...before i left...she is 8 weeks pregnant...that ,eans she concieved in around 15 december or so..."sudhir was really overjoyed "well thats great...8 weeks pregnant...great..what could be better...maine kaha tha na...if she is distracyed..it d happen"ashutosh could hear lot of voices from the other hand...probably sudhir was in the hospital...sudhir seemed to turn serious"how is she feeling...??usne bataaya kyun nahi"??ashutosh laughed"she didnt seem to realise...woh to yahaan aayee..to i realised..symptoms are v clear..."sudhir asked"confirmation"??ashutosh nodded"yes ..i had taken her to dr smith..she examined her n got the tests also done..its confirmed..."sudhir seemed to relax..."so ashutosh you need to tke it easy..dont let her go in a tizzy...and minimum flights..."ashutosh seemed worried..."but waapas to aana hai na..."sudhir seemed to muse..n then suggested"take a direct flight...sirf ek baar take off or landing bear karni hogi...and ask the airlines if they can arrange special bed seats...pata kar..but i am delighted...nidhi kaisi hai...khush hai"??ashutosh looked at a blushing nidhi"haan..bahut khush hai..."sudhir said"pata hai..mai dr mathur se milne aaya tha,.tere ghar pe hoon...le dr mathur se bat ker..."baba seemed delighted...voice quaking with emotion..."beta,..badhaai ho...i am so happy...mai jaanta tha bhagwaan ke ghar der hai...andher nahi hai...humaare aangan mei zuroor khelegi teri bitiya...la nidhi se baat kara...achcha pehle armaan se..."it seemed armaan had snatched the phone"saale...ashu..life ban gayee...oh i am sooo happy...phone loudspeaker pe ker gadhe..."as dr ashutosh quickly explained to nidhi that every one knew...as the loudspeaker was on...nidhi spoke"jee baba...aap kaise hain..."??baba almost cried"khush reh meri bachchi...tu ne to mera ghar bhar diya khushiyon se...dr mathur ki duniya aabaad ho gayi...bus ab poti aa jaaye meri...anyways..beta tu apna khayal rakhna...aur ashu ki baat maan na...samjhi beta"armaan teased"hello...mummy...bhateeja milega ya bhateeji...aur mera nishu kahaan hai...bahut yaad aati hai uski..."ashu smiled"so raha hai..abhi londoneye ghoom ke aaya hai..."baba spoke"ashu..hoda relaxed rakhna programme...nidhi stressed out lagti thi beta...mujhe laga tha..per poochna munaasib nahi samjha ...anyway...take care...aur ab roz phone karna hoga..aur apna olan mujhe bhi e mail ker samjha...ja..abhi colonel ko phone karta hoon...samdhanji to paagal ho jaayengi..dont worry...england nahi pahunchne denge unhe..tum log enjoy karo...per zara dhyaan se beta..."!!"jee baba..."replied ashu...as he disconnected the phone..and raised his eyebrow..."sorry nidhi..sabko pata chal gaya...but they are delighted...tum naaraaz ho kya"??nidhi laughed"naaraaz nahi..bahut khush hoon..bus dadi bua ko aap handle kariyega...achcha aaj ka kya plan hai aapka"??ashutosh sat..holding her head"jo tum kaho...jaan whatever..."nidhi blushed"yeh biwi ki ghulami ho rahi hai...ya beti ki...dr hardstone..."??ashutosh brought her close and said"mujhe kiski zyaada chinta hai..tum jaanti ho..."and then turning serious said"din me thodi der college jaana hai...phir 2 baje thames pe cruise ...aur waapas aake ..formal dinner party rakhi hai dr mallik ne unhe apne function ke liye invite bhi karna hai..he has invited quite a few drs..."nidhi seemed excited"v good,.unke liye gifts bhi le chalenge...ok??lekin sabse pehle...lets go n shop a lil...lets go to buy a water proof coat n some comfortable night wear for you...nishu ke liye bhi...phir mahor shopping ko chalenge kisi din...theek"!!nidhi hugged him...as ashu seemed a lil perplexed"aisa kya ker diya maine"??nidhi smiled "credit card halaal hone ki shuruaat...aur kya"!!and ashutosh pulled her nose

As dr ashutosh sipped coffee with dr watson , dr watson said "ashutosh, we are extremely impressed with your work...infact there is an excellent offer..to be the head of this esteemed institution ..after i hang my boots this month...you will have an eaning ten times more than kgh..the research facilties...you have to now graduate to a level...where you reseach n guide other surgeons...you d be among the top most ..in the world..."dr ashutosh 's face showed emotions ranging from surprise to humility n then a strange firmness...as he began, dr watson stopped him..."takeyour time...you have full one day...i am sure your pretty n young wife d jump on the idea,...she could join in as a jr doctor...think it over,.."dr ashutosh shook hands and got up...walking to meet his class one last time before leaving ..as he entered...mehmood came with a big card of thanx from all of them and then others just kind of clamoured around him..shaking hands..giving their phone no...as ashutosh looked up..his eyes fell on meera...dr meera..sitting alone at the back of the class..her eyes blank..dr ashutosh decode to go up to her...as others wentbout.."hi meera...wishh you all the best in life..where do u plan to work.."??she looked up...her eyes still blank ..."thanks dr ashutosh...i d be working here in london...a specialist in my grandfather's surgery...but i d like to repeat...life d never mean anything without you...i d never be the same again...if only you could understand my love...you would...forget your wife...divorces do happen dont they??we ...i could give you a new begining..."dr ashutosh's softness seemed to disappear...his look hardened as he clenched his teeth..."dr meera...it was my mistake that i tried to help you out...you are living in a mirage...and if you are not ready to accept the reality...i have nothing to say...good day...n goodbye.."dr ashutosh walked out with firm steps...not looking back even once ...as meera seemed to call him..but stopped short...tears suddenly clouding her vision...

Having completed the shopping , n lunch at the apartment, the family stepped out for the river cruise...as ashutosh first took nidhi..holding her secure, zaffar handed over nishu...and said he d wait at the parking..as the boat started..with a push...nidhi clutched her belly..Ashutosh held her tight..."dont worry...its fine..."as they saw cleopetra's needle, sailor's den..dr ashutosh showed the II world war ships...and suddenly ashutosh clutched nidhi...n showed the london bridge opening for a ship...as lil nishu seemed wonderstruck!!!As the cruise stopped at greenwich..ashutosh asked nidhi "chalo lets have pictures at 0 degree longitude..."but nidhi seemed a lil tired"nah...utarne me dikkat hoti hai..thodi..aap jaaiye"dr ashutosh seemed worried ..but then sighed ..sudden weakness in the first trimester is common...he just smiled reassuringly and clicked pics in the cruise...as nishu stood with him on the prow...in a titanic pose n nidhi clicked...
While returning ..nidhi commented"london..oh i really love the city..."dr ashutosh looked at her intently.n then asked"nidhi..will you like to live here...in london...shift here"??nidhi seemed surprised...her mouth wide open...and as dr ashutosh looked intently...she replied"jaante hain...panchi din bhar kahin bhi door door tak ud aate hain..per shaam ko waapas apne ghar...apne ghonsle me jaate hain..."dr ashutosh seemed lost in her eyes...he had got his answer...n he drew her close...thankful that though their age had such a vast gap...there seemed no difference in th way they looked at life...

Nishu wore a green pants ,cream shirt and jacket with a hood, nidhi dressed in a blue silk with a thread border...with a woollen blouse and as dr ashutosh made her wear her coat...they looked picture perfect...and together they drove to dr mallik's house..as they hung their overcoats and were ushered in, dr and mrs mallik welcomed them with open arms...lil nishu said"good evening "to one and all and mrs mallik had very considerately organised a play corner for him...where he went ..happily..such a dear...said dr mallik just as more guests arrived...all congratulating dr ashutosh on his success ..ashutosh introduced nidhi to all ...as mrs mallik added "oh she is the angel in ashutosh's life...never seen a girl like her"!!nidhi blushed with consciousness while dr ashutosh's face beamed with pride...and then ..dr mallik said.."come nidhi annd ashutosh ..let me introduce you to my grand daughter...she was your student ashutosh...come dear..."and in walked dr meera in a black evening gown...looking straight at dr ashutosh...as his eyes seemed to flash first with disbelief...and then with anger...as nidhi shook hands..and mrs mallik introduced"meera darling..she is dr nidhi..the darling angel in dr ashutosh's life..his dear wife..." meera looked at nidhi...her eyes looking at dr ashutosh...n then at nidhi...his nidhi...her face seemed to lose colour...
