Nostalgia - A Trip Down Memory Lane!
We were going through our folders of pictures that we have and somehow got stuck in a space that evoked memories.
Memory is a strange thing
A reel unfurls unbound, color or a black and white print with a zing
A flash or a full blown movie, a tear jerker or a smile it does bring
Memory is a strange thing
Passage of time like sand through fist, a few grains stick unbrushed that makes the heart sing
Arjun - Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek
These photos are a few grains which brought us memory of a day on the shoot in Thane that had a strike and nothing was open around for food. The sun, the heat, the smell of chlorine from the water all added to a day that was blistering and one had to wear shades to protect one's eyes. How relentless the sun was and how our fight to get the shoot canned was another relentless effort. A day where Gorky M had jumped in the pool to get an underwater shot that he wanted for the show and there was no one more accomplished to use an oxygen cylinder and shoot. A hands on man, in the thick of it. Yes, that is the dedication and drive we saw. Arjun - Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek a show close to him and we have witnessed all the highs, lows and the mid-points.
Qubool Hai
Mahasangam of Qubool Hai at Chandavli with song sequences, a wedding. A fun filled day with set-up of intelligent lights, outdoor location and handling artists not just from the show but two other shows. A memory assailed where a chandelier falls on Zoya. A sequence that was elaborate with fight master Gur Bachanji, who is of course no more amidst us. We have had some amazing moments with man who was tireless.
Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the Year
Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the Year, this photo took us to a day on the shoot when Nissar Parvez had taken the wheel of the ship and was directing. A scene where Suvreen is accused of having ruined a dress of a model bringing bad repute for the company and people are outside deciding her punishment as well as trying damage control. A shot where Suvreen is made to stay back in RC's office and how she felt bereft and guilty despite not having done anything wrong was the scene.
Tell us do you go through your old albums and have flashes of memory or even a whole sequence with song and dance that take over your whole being?
What memories mean to you? A way to relive a moment or something that should be brushed aside never to be revisited? Nostalgia is like an attic room, full of dust that could make you sneeze in irritation or make you smile at finding a treasure that had slipped past the conscious into the sub-conscious.
As you watch your favorite shows do you feel a sense of deja vu? Lets talk.
