Its on the current situation.. At Amer.. For Sukanya's wedding.. Jodha-Jalal sharing the same hojra..
It's a day before the wedding.. Ladies had their celebration sangeet kind of in courtyard.. where Jodha Sukanya spent time dancing singing together remembering their childhood, their fights, jodha's jidd , sukanya's sorrows and so on..jodha and sukanya felt more closer as grownups..cried together..and danced in the happiness to celebrate their sisterhood.
Jalal is moving around on the terrace when he saw his begum as happy as never before. Dancing and smiling like a child. Jalal almost stared and smiled. As if feeling himself lucky to be the khavind of Jodha.
Its night. Jalal is on bed. Jodha enters the room. Seems like she is lost somewhere. Straight to her bed side. Curtain already their parting their bed in two. Jalal is trying to sleep but notices that jodha looks disturbed. She is trying to sleep but she keeps changing sides in thoughts. Jalal feels worried and thinks to ask her.
Jalal : Jodha begum lagta hai aap so nahi pa rahi hai.
No answer from jodha.
Jalal: kehte hai agar insaan kisi kashmakash me ho to use apne dil ki baat kisi ko bata deni chahiye.. is se insaan ka dil halka ho jata hai. Agar aap chahein to humse baat kar sakti hain.
No answer from jodha.
Jalal chnges his side and tries to sleep. But still thinking of her problem. After few minutes Jodha jurns to jalal.
Jodha: Sahenshah..
Jalal: hmm jodha begum(does not turn to jodha)
Jodha: hum aapse kuch kehna chahtein hain
Jalal turns to her(as if he was waiting for her to call him) and says Beshak kahiye jodha begum.. sohar hai hum aapke..itna to haq banta hai aapka hum par..ki jab chahein hum se baat kar sakein.
Jodha: aaj hum vibhinn bhavnao ka anubhav ek sath kar rahein hai.. hum samjte the ki sukanya ka vivaah tay karvane ke piche aapka swarth hoga. Ya fir kaise honge sukanya ke pati is baat ko lekar hum chintit the. Par aj hone waale jamaai-sa ko dekh kar aur unke ghar valo se mil kar hum prasann ho gaye. Humari saari chinta dur ho gayi ( jodha smiling. Jalal also smiles feeling that this smile is because of him)
Jodha: Aur is vivah se baapu-sa maa-sa aur baaki sab bhi bahot khus hai. Aur ye sab aapki wajah se sambhav hua hai. Aapka dhnyawaad karna chate hai aur maafi chate hai ki humne aapke bare mein galat socha..jabki aapne..apne to ek aadarsh behnoi ka farz nibhaya hai..
Jalal: (laughs) to isi baat ki wajah se aapko nind nahi aa rahi thi, jodha begum?
Jodha: nahin. Khushi ke saath dukh ki bhaavna bhi to hai..sukanya ka khushaal bhavisya soch kar hum khus hai. Par humaari behen ab biyah kar sauraal chali jayegi. Uske sath bitaya hua har pal hume bahot yaad aayega.
Jalal interestingly notes the change of her expression when she slips in to the memories. He gets up and sits and listens to her from the other side of parda.
Jodha: (innocently opening her heart to jalal) pata hai hum unpe humesha haq jamaya karte the. Har baat pe har chiz pe hum unko pareshan kiya karte the. (jalal thinks "hume bhi to karti rehti hain" and smiles)
Jodha: Unko humne bahot rulaya hai..(tears in her eyes) aur kal wo sasural chali jayengi. Fir hum na kabhi unhe sata payenge..na rula payenge.. aur waha wo akeli hongi..unko kaun sambhalega sasuraal mein..pata nahin wo wahan sab kaise sambhaal payengi..kitni chintiti thi wo aaj.. (jodha cries. Jalal worries)
Jalal: par jodha..
(she comtinues without listning)
Jodha: aisa kyu hota hai ki betiyo ko ek pal me paraya kar diya jaata hai. (she breaks down. Jalal parda hataa kar jodha ko samjane ki koshish karta hai)
Jodha: (continues crying) Ek naye ghar me bhej diya jaata hai..ajnabiyo ke bich..
Jalal holds her hands.
Jalal: jodha begum..aap is tarah se nahin ro sakti. Aap to badi I bahadur beti hai apne "BAAPU-sa" ki (jalal intentionally uses instead of walid) agar aap hi is tarah se tut jayengi to sukanya ko kaun sambhalega..raani saheba aur daadi sahiba ko kaun rokega rone se..
Jodha puts her head on jalal's shoulder and jalal's hand pampers her head.. he continues to say shaant jodha begum..nahin royengi aap..
Jalal at the same time with the several thoughts in his mind- he did not knew the pain of a girl leaving her father's house - jodha was crying on his shoulder! - how to stop her crying.
Jalal pulls her back and looks at her holding her arms. Wipes off her tears. Trying to change the topic.
Jalal- (smilingly creating some suspense to divert jodha's thoughts) jodha begum hum bhi aapse kuch baat karna chahtein the
No answer from jodha. She keeps thinking wiping off her tears.
Jalal: ab aap to puchengi nahin to hum hi bata dete hain.
Jodha looks at him
Jalal: aaj humne kisi ko dekha. Aur dekhne ke baad hum apni muskuraahat rok nahi paa rahe the. Itna khubsurat insaan humne aaj tak nahin dekha.
Jodha gives a surprise and a jealous look : kaun tha woh?
Jalal: (creating more suspense he fells dwon on bed acting as if still lost in thoughts) hum apni khusi bayaan nahi kar paa rahe sach mein.. khuda ne use fursat se tarasha hoga. Uska rang..aur jab wo hasti hai..mashallah..dil chir deti hai..
Jodha: (angrily) aur wo to aapke paas hai hi nahi..
Jalal: aur jab wo naachti hai.. wallah maano koi pari zameen par utar aayi ho..
Now jodha gets hint. Must be one of the girls dancing at the sangeet.. tries to recall the most beautiful one..as jalal was describing.
Jodha: aur usne kaunse kapde pahen rakhe the..?
Jalal: are hum to uski khoobsoorti mein itne ddob gaye the ki kapdo ka rang dekhne ki hum fursat hi kahaan thi.. par shayad who nila dupatta odhe..pile ghaghre me thi..(jalal gives a mischievous look)
Jodha: (yaad karte hua) nila dupatta to aj humare ilava... (sharmae hue) kisi aur ne nahi pehna tha..(blushes)
Jalal: ( turns to her side ) haan jodha begum aj pehlii baar apko itna khus dekha humne. Apni dosto aur jananio k sath jis tarah se aapp khul ke has rahin thi..naach rahin thi.. hume us parinde ki tarha lagi jo pnjare se nikal kar aasmaan me aazad udte hai..mithe geet gaate hue..jise udte hue dekhna khuskishmati lagti hai..
Jodha blushes.
Jalal: sach me jodha begum aap behtarin fankra hai.. aur aaj aap behad khubsurat lag rahin thi. Un sab jananio me sabse alag dikh rahi thi.. humne is se pehle shayad aapko aise kabhi nahin dekha. Apka sauhar hone par hum fakr mehsus kar rahe the.
Jodha: (feeling shy. Trying to change topic) to aap chup chup kar mahilao k utasav ko nihaar rahe the.. (mischievously) kya ye ek sahenshah ko shobha deta hai..?
Jalal: (blushes) wo to yun hi jodha begum..(suddenly changes his expression..the "real Jalal" and moves to jodha. Hold her from waist.) waise hum sahenshah hai..aur aapke shuahar bhi..(pulls her closer. Just an inch away to kiss.) hum jo chahein kar sakte hai.. jitni baar chahein aapko dekh sakte hai..chhu bhi sakte hai..apr hume koi nahin rok sakta, J O D H A B E G U M (no need to describe the Rajat's way of uttering these lines!) and the ishq hai wo ehsaas plays in background)
Jodha trying to free herself.
Jalal leaves her and smiles and frees her.
Jalal: mehfuz hai aap humse jodha begum. (sleeps on his side of the bed-other side of parda and smiles) Wo to humari begum ne hi yaad dila diya ki hum sahenshah hai.. warna bistar main baithe apni hasin begum se baatein karte hue hum sirf ek shauhar the.
Jodha: (anger/ smile confusing expression) ab so jaie aap.. kal hume vivvah ki vidhiyo mein bhi to shamil hona hai. Aur agar aap aaram nahi karnge to apka swasthay bigad sakta hai. Aapke zakham abhi puri tarah bhare nahin.
JALAL: (closed eyes) aj laga humari begum ko humari fikar to hai.. khushi hui. Shabbakhair jodha begum..
Jodha: (smiling on her side sleeping) subhratri (man hi man mein says "Jalal"☺️)
