Just kidding though, I really like Deepika, but I don't think any of the younger generation of actors has managed to get the kind of fan following that will watch their film no matter what. That takes time to develop.
People mistakenly assumed that RK's films mint money because he has the star power to draw in an audience. Whereas I think it is more likely that people go to watch RK's films because he has become associated with good films. Once they realize the film is not good, they have no further loyalty to the actor. Similarly with Shahid, unfortunately, he has made consistently terrible choices with his films, so people are a little wary of giving his films a chance.
Beyond that no one is questioning anyone's talent or performance, but how many people actually watch films just to appreciate somebody's efforts, the film needs to work as a whole, good acting can enhance the experience by making the characters more accessible, but if the character itself is terribly written, who cares.

Besharam just wasn't meant to work, from it's very onset you could sense the bad script, execution and the music, all which contributed towards its failure.
Besharam won't harm Ranbir much at all, Bollywood loves Ranbir way too much to shun him after one film. This will leave Abhinav Kashyap and Pallavi Sharda nowhere though.
