It makes NO sense for PD to leave 50% of his property to his brother! No sense at all, when it is PD, and then Avantika and Anuj that ran the business! WHY should this Manik get a 50% share? He doesn't deserve it!
Only in that case Manik would be legally entitled to 50% share of both Dewan empire and Mansion. In that case it does not matter whether they made a success of the business or not. However had the business run into losses Manik would not have been liable for the same.
If it was founded on inherited wealth - directly or through sale/mortgage of inherited wealth - Manik is entitled to his share. It is possible that the kids are not aware of how PD started his business and so it makes sense to clarify this point in the will.
Yet all said and done, I doubt if the will is true. The kind of man PD was he would not spring such drastic surprises on his family. This game has a long way to go before it is fully played out.
