I think good music is the #1 promotion item.
No matter how much one goes and promotes thier movie on the top of their lungs...if there isn't any music that the audience connects with...you're in trouble. Better hope the script is good or the acting is or its a big banner/starrer movie or mouth to mouth promotion. If not...yikes.

Hit Music guarantees good opening weekend. Music is the biggest promotional tool for any movie.

If you look at ATBB movies, one thing that is common is all movies had a hit soundtrack. Now there are few movies which are hit without music too but i will say majority of BW hits have a good music.

Now a hit music don't guarantee success but a hit music can elevate an average movie to a hit status.

Music can definitely help the success of a movie and work as a promotional tool but in the long-run music alone can't turn a movie into a hit, the script and the cast are far more important.
