Cute and talented actress Trishika Tiwari aka Namita in Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka, is quite excited about her entry in SAB TV's popular show Lapataganj that has recently made a comeback with its Season 2. The show is now rechristened as Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir.
"This Garima Productions project has introduced a few new families. The father of my character Dolly runs a kirana (grocery) shop. Dolly is a young woman who thinks herself to be of heroine material and has only one aim in life and that is to become a heroine like her idol Kareena Kapoor. She also wants her village to sport big cut outs of her like that of Kareena," avers Trishika.
"Dolly isn't very smart and neither mature and does not know how to follow her heart. So much so, she even tried to run away from home twice but her dad brought her back as she did not know her way around," she adds.
Here Trishika says that she is very happy to be part of this great set up. "I have been following this show since a long time and it is great fun to do the scenes which director/ writer Ashwini Dheer has penned. The entire unit is working very hard and all of us are slogging away even in the rain," the actress informs.
Asked to compare her character in Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir with her earlier roles, Trishika observes, "This role is completely different. While in Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka and Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi, I played a mature sibling, in this show, I essay a girl who lives in la la land where Chukandilal (Sanjay Choudhary) fancies her, but she is least bothered."
Trishika, who has also done films like Hello Hum Lallan Bol Rahen Hai and Undertrial, is hopeful that this assignment would catapult her into the big league. "I was noticed in Byaah… as well, but this show is something different and most of the characters have become immensely popular. I hope I get to taste the same sweet success," she ends hopefully.
