Rahul Jaykar- Epitome of Love !!!!!!
Hindi Film had always revolved around hyping the love factor between the lead pair, be it some great historical sagas like Dilwale dulhaniya lejayengey, or be it Mainey pyaar kiya. People still remember SRK as Rahul/Raaj, and Salman Khan as Prem
And now is the time when we know Aditya Roy Kapur as RJ. It was not that all the cult classics were love stories with happy endings, sagas with sad ending also had been made and worked. But those were the days when viewers loved that flavour of typical love, romance, sacrifice and then some action and a perfect ending.
As time passed, the flavours changed, and in the context of 2013, love onscreen usually means being a superior physically strong man, who looks deadly handsome, can do hardcore actions, dance well, fall in love with a completely opposite persona, and winning the girl's heart.
Recently films triggering tears and depressing ends had usually disappointed bad endings, people ended up saying that we disliked the film because the male lead turned out to be a loser, not courageous enough. But inspite of all that dismal conditions, year 2013 got its first blockbuster in the form of a love saga Ashiqui 2 which not had a sad ending, but every possible flavour of a 90s film.
Whenever people talks about the film, one cannot ignore the character of the hero Rahul Jaykar. He indeed at the end made himself look like a looser for many but winner at his own conscience, winner at his heart as his sacrifice is what that made the story so eternal and ever remembering. The affect of Rahul has become as such that instantly the character has become a rage.
A man who is a rockstar with no lacking in his life, but still got drowned into alcohol and addiction as he suffered from loneliness and a motive to live and continue singing. He needed to know that why is he singing, why is he earning, what will he do with so much name and fame when he has no bloody reason to live for. And then only his life takes a turn, he not only finds his smile back but a motive to live and sing.
He finds his lady love, finally a person for whom he can live even if that meant by ignoring his career, his friends, his fans, everything. He not only made her believe in her talent but gave her new heights of success, in the course of which he got drowned more into his addiction with the feeling of guilt and pain that his existence in her life will ruin her beautiful and successful life. Such a man who had nothing to do, or think other than his love arohi, is something which is atleast unseen by many of us in our lifetime in a bollywood film. Rahul Jaykar was once remembered as the nation's heartthrob and later was no more remembered and forgotten totally, but always existed in the form of Arohi's unlimited success, her free life, her motive to go on and lead her life.
Yes, people say that there is always a woman behind a successful man, but Ashiqui2 redefines that, love can come in any form and makes people live life even if it means dying for each other or living for each other. It taught us that there could be also a flawed man behind a spotless woman's success. Such characters of RJ come once for a lifetime and they leave a mark and set a trend for the writers to write more and more eternal characters like this.
Lastly, we all the fans of Aditya Roy Kapur, thank him and respect him from the bottom of our hearts that he is a gem, he is magical, he was unbeatable as Rahul onscreen, the vulnerability, the complexity, the passion, the pain which he portrayed as RJ onscreen can never be repeated by anyone else and can never be forgotten. Rahul Jaykar, we just feel that, kaash you would exist for real, then there wouldn't be a short of Arohis here for you.
So Come Lets Re-Live the Moments and make Rahul Alive Once again. As RJ will be always Alive in our Heart
Woh Din Hi Kya Jisme Tum Saath na Ho
Woh Raat hi Kya Jisme Tumhari Yaad na Ho
Dil se Dua hai hamari
Chamakte raho tum aise hi samne koi Rukawat na ho
