I'm sorry to see but the ladies mentioned above are far above actresses like Vidya. I love Vidya too and I agree she's given some outstanding performances recently, but we're celebrating 100 years of cinema and Hema ji, Sridevi, and Rani have been in our industry much longer than Vidya and have contributed more with outstanding performances.

I guess you have a point, it's not always about quantity as much as it's about quality. I think if you add up Vidya's total with let's say Rani or even Hema (who I don't think is an amazing actress compared to Jaya bachchan, Rekha, or even Vyjananthimala) then she probably has done more creative, versatile and real characters in such a short time span.

Either way, there's gonna be ONE winner and we know it's def not Vidya when Smita Patil, Tabu, Nargis and Nutan are on the list.

Sudhini shouldn't have been nominated and Alka should have...Ghoonghat ki aad se is CLASSIC!

I would choose three different actresses from three very different generations, (among those who are alive)

1. Waheeda Rehman

2. Madhuri Dixit

3. Parineeti Chopra

Based on pure acting prowess and screen presence. These three actresses define their generation.

among those alive..i would choose...

1. Waheeda Rehman (her performance in Guide is my all time fave among any actors or actresses)

2. Sreedevi (She was n is versatile profsnly...ignoring her irritating decisions in personal life)

3. Priyanka Chopra (She has balanced the hot n sexy with the arty very very well...again..versatile for sure!)

n honestly..i felt bad when actresses were not shown on Filmfare cover..i even questioned jitesh pillai (editor) but no response 😉
