Television, also conferred as female dominated media, has always been instrumental in bringing the best of female protagonists to the faade. These ladies have left lasting impressions on viewer's mind by their unparalleled portrayal of characters which then went on to become iconic. They are willing to travel that extra mile; take that deep plunge to ensure they do not let down their viewers.

Shows taking generation leap is trite on Indian TV and to continue the spree of entertainment, these young beauties do not shy away from becoming mothers, of course onscreen, to kids of nearly their age. These modern mummies love their kids, care for them and thanks to their make-up artist; still sizzle on screen, at times even more than their daughters and bahus. Don't believe me. Think again as we talk about some of the reigning television mothers.

Aakanksha Singh began her TV journey by essaying role of mother to two kids without any reservations. Guess no one can deny to the fact that in season 2 of her show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, she is giving tough competition to her adolescent kid Navika in the looks department.

She won Best Maa award of Star Parivaar from 2003-2007 and Shweta Tiwari still continues to rock in role of mother to her teenage children in Parvarrish Kuch Khattee Kuch Meethi. She is the eye-candy of the show and looks stunning in her bold Punjabi avatar. She is a successful single mother in her real life and thus is natural at this.

Her real life beau may have relinquished from the show but that has not congested the reverse ageing impact on our next mother on the list. Ankita Lokhande, a mother of five in her show Pavitra Rishta, manages to look greener with each passing episode. No doubt she is the one of the most popular face on TV.

No denial to the fact that Jassi oops Mona Singh jaisi koi nahi. This reel life newlywed plays a perfect single mother in Kya Huaa Tera Vaada. She looks age of her adolescent kids but steers them through all the hardships. For Tina Dutta, she is her only competitor as she is essaying role of both mother and daughter in her show Uttaran. Now it is for you to decide who is better among the two – Ichcha or Meethi.

You seem to just can't enough of the haute style of Manasi Salvi aka Avantika of Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara. Be it her designer saris, her exquisite jewels or the classiness with which she presents herself; she overshadows her daughter-in-law Pankhuri in all aspects.
