Chapter 4(b)
Khushi:
No'no'nobody said anything, it's just that I was'.
Khushi moved
back and wiped the remaining tears!
Arnav: You
were??
Khushi:
Uhhh'I was missing my parents!
Arnav: Call
them then.
Khushi
smiled and answered: I want to but I can't'.the ones I want to talk with would
not want to even hear my voice'.and I can't even talk to the ones who are ready
to talk with me coz (khushi pointed to the sky)they are too far'among the
stars!
Arnav was
not comfortable with this topic so he attempted to change it!
Arnav:
Ok'.you didn't say why you are in Delhi.
Khushi
(hesitatingly): Uhh..i came to meet my boyfriend..Rohan!
Arnav:
Okayyy!!
He said with
a smirk. Who is that idiot who would have
Motor Mouth as girlfriend...Nevertheless, he is lucky'.atleast he is not stuck
with someone as Lavanya. He was in lost in his thoughts when Khushi poked
him.
Arnav(in an
irritated tone): What?
Khushi:
No'nothing!
Arnav: Then
why did you poke me?
Khushi
(teasingly): Who'I thought while we were talking about Rohan, you were reminded
of your girlfriend!
Arnav:
Oh'not again! And she is not my girlfriend, got that?
Khushi:
Oh'.your future wife then!
Arnav: Shut
up Khushi!
Khushi: What
shut up? You shut up'.hayye look at you, you are blushing hearing about your
personal Fevicol!
Arnav: What
the f'I ain't blushing'and what the hell is fevicol?
Khushi: Not
what, who'.Fevicol aka Lavanya'didn't you say she is stuck with you?
Arnav: So?
Khushi:
So'she is stuck with you with fevicol, Sallu stuck Kareena's photo to his
heart'but Lavanya is one step ahead, so she stuck you to herself.
Khushi
laughed at her own silly joke, which was so-not-funny according to Arnav.
That's when they heard Anjali's voice;
Anjali: What
are you both still doing here; didn't I ask you to come down for dinner?
Arnav: We
were just coming Di.
They were
just about to move out when something or rather someone flew past Anjali and
hugged Arnav fiercely nearly making the latter fall behind.
And here comes my nightmare!
Arnav:
Lavanya, what are you doing 'leave me! I'm suffocating here'
Lavanya
moved back cupped his cheeks and exclaimed: Oh sorry, sorry'
Arnav
muttered 'it's okay' while removing her hands from his cheeks. To khushi, she
seemed to be a beautiful and modern woman. She was dressed in a short black off
shoulder dress. Her dusky skin covered by makeup, lips thin and highly painted
in red, contrasted to her pallid face.
Lavanya
hugged Arnav by the side not leaving a single occasion to touch him, much to
Arnav's displeasure. He didn't look at all comfortable with her around and
tried to pry off her hands away from him.
Lavanya:
Five days! Five days since I saw you'And you didn't even answered my phone'
Arnav: I
went there for work Lavanya'.I had no useless time to attend to your stupid
phone calls!
Lavanya:
It's okay ASR'.I understand and I missed you so much!
And I was glad to be away from you! Arnav added in his mind.
Lavanya:
When we get married nah, I won't let you go alone on business trips'we will go
together as a mini honeymoon'.she finished with a wink!
Marriage and that too with you? You
ought to be joking girl'i'm still looking for ways to get rid of you! Motor
Mouth is right! You are fevicole-d to me!!!
Arnav's
chain of thought was broken by Lavanya's curious query;
Lavanya: Who
is she? She asked pointing at Khushi.
Khushi: I am
Khushi'
Arnav (cuts
in): She is my friend.
He watched
Lavanya's reaction closely as the latter turned green and her eyes moved
restlessly on Khushi's form.
'Jingle
bells, Batman smells'
That's when Lavanya's weird reminder tone made
her appearance in turn irritating the hell out of Arnav! How much he hated that
stupid cartoon like tone.
Lavanya:
Oops, that was a reminder that now I have to apply my body lotion, so I will be
back after that!
Anjali:
But lavanya'
Lavanya:
Di'I will be back in 5 minutes'.Ciao ASR!
She
left him with a kiss on his cheeks. And as usual, Arnav wiped his cheeks with
his shirt making Anjali giggle.
Khushi
(trying hard to hide her smile): So, she is your future wife
Arnav:
No need to hide your smile'.go on laugh at me!
Both
Anjali and Khushi broke into peals of laughter. Arnav soon realized that these
2 ladies laugh was contagious as he soon started to chuckle'
Khushi:
Hey Devi Maiyya, she is so funny'
Arnav:
She is not funny, she is damn annoying and her reminder tone is worst!
Khushi:
She even puts reminder tone for her body lotion time!
Anjali:
That's Lavanya for you, khushi, now tell me, do you think she and Chottey would
be able to be cope together?
Khushi:
I have no idea about that'but if she changes a bit and he changes somehow then
its'
Arnav: Are you always this optimistic?
Khushi: Most of the times I am.
Arnav: That's nice, but I don't think I would
ever like to waste my one minute, let alone my life, on her!
Anjali:
We need to talk to Nani, chottey, before she decides that you and Lavanya are
to get engaged!
Arnav:
We will Di, and yet if she doesn't understand, then I will have to go against
her for the first time in my life!
Anjali:
Let's go down for dinner now. The two of you must be starving!

Arnav,
Khushi, Anjali took their place and Lavanya joined them soon. Dinner was served
by the servants and overall it was a silent affair, with everybody
concentrating on their food! That was until Devyani Raizada decided to throw
the bomb!
Nani:
Chottey, I have decided that your and Lavanya's engagement will be held from 2
weeks prior to today. If you have a meeting, cancel it!
This
made Arnav choke on his food. Khushi who was occupying the seat beside him went
to his rescue and patted his back whilst making him drink some water. While
Anjali couldn't help imagining these 2 together, Nani was furious on seeing
this exchange between Arnav and Khushi.
Arnav:
Nani, before that we need to talk.
Nani:
Talk about what?
Arnav:
Nani, I don't think I'm prepared for this engagement now, so'
Nani:
I don't want to hear anything regarding this'Lavanya you can start with your
shopping, afterall you are Chottey's would be wife.
