One day, in some specific context, Shri Krishna suggested Satrajit to give Swamantak gem to him.
But Satrajit refused, & that was the end of the matter.
However, as fate would have it, one day, Prasen the brother of Satrajit, went hunting in the forest wearing that necklace, only to be killed by a lion.
When Prasen didn't return, Satrajit & others said that Shri Krishna must have killed Prasen in the forest to steal the Swamantak gem.
So Shyamsunder decided to go to the forest to search for Prasen & Swamantak, to prove his innocence.
In the meantime, Jambavant living in a huge cave in that forest along with his young daughter Jambavati, had taken that Swamantak gem which he found in the forest & had given it to Jambavati to play as a huge shining crystal.
Shri Krishna went on the forest, found Prasen's dead body, half devoured by the lion, and ultimately traced the gem inside that cave.
He saw a damsel playing with that big gem, so he asked the girl to return the gem to him.
Girl called his father Jambavant, and when he saw a stranger asking his daughter to return the gem, he was furious.
Jambavant recognized Shri Ram only as the Supreme Lord, & failed to make the connection between Shri Ram & Dwarkadheesh.
