Part 8

*Evening at TaaYam's house*

(Swayam is busy talking to Sharon in his room. Taani is in her room totally confused. She is digging her cupboard to find something to wear for the party.)

Taani: Hey Krishnaji ek toh pehli baar kisi club mein ja rhi hu. Inn kapdo mein toh nahi ja sakti. Kya pehnu kuch samajh nahi aa rha.

(Again starts searching. She finds a black dress. [Imagine Taani's blue dress that she had worn on her first date]. She was finalizing on the dress when Cloud Taani appears.)

Cloud Taani: Tu yeh dress pehnegi?

Taani: Haan, kyun?

Cloud Taani: Tu dress pehen ke club jayegi?

Taani: Toh phir kya pehnu. Mere paas club mein pehene layak kapde nahi hai. Ek kaam karti hu, mein bhai ko bol deti hu ki meri tabiyat [health] kharab hai and mein club nhi aa rahi. Haan yeh theek rahega.

Cloud Taani: Aur Rey se kya kahegi?

Taani: Rey se jhut bhi nahi bol sakti. Kya karu, kya karu, kya karu? (Walking from one corner to the other in her room.) Krishnaji ab aap hi batao mein kya karu? (Looking up.)

Rey: Har baat pe Krishnaji ko kyu pareshan karti ho? Kabhi apne boyfriend ko bhi yaad kar liya karo! (Rey enters in Taani's room through the window.)

Taani: 😲 Rey aap yaha kya kar rahe ho? Bhai ne dekh liya toh vo firse naraz ho jayenge. Yaad hai na last time kya hua tha?

Rey: Swayam ko pata nahi chalega, vo apni Siren, I mean Sharon ke saath phone pe busy hai.

Taani: Aur yeh aapko kaise pata?

Rey: Pata hai.

Taani: But aap yaha kyu? Aapko ready nahi hona? Jao ghar jaake ready ho jao.

Rey: Ek toh mein apni jaan ki baazi lagakar pipe chadhke tumse milne aaya hu aur tum ho ki mujhe yahan se nikalne pe tuli ho?

Taani: Rey mazak mat karo. Ek ghante baad aapko yaha FRONT DOOR se aake hume pick up karna hai. So jao aur ready ho jao. Mujhe bhi ready hona hai. (She again starts searching her cupboard.)

Rey: Atcha baba jaata hu. But yaha mein kyu aaya hoon puchogi nahi?

Taani: Rey, aap yaha kyu aaye ho? (Looking into the cupboard.)

Rey: Yeh tum thoda pyaar se bhi puch sakti thi.

Taani: Rey aap please batayenge aap yaha kyu aaye ho?

Rey: Haan haan kyu nahi.😃 Mein yaha tumhe kuch dene aaya hoon. Yeh lo. (Hands her a box.)

Taani: Isme kya hai?

Rey: Khud hi dekh lo.

(Taani opens the box and finds a beautiful dress inside.)

Taani: Rey yeh?

Rey: Tum pehli baar club jaa rhi ho aur jitna mein tumhe jaanta hu tum Indian dress pehenke jaana bilkul pasand nahi karogi. So here is a gift for you. Yeh pehen lena. Okay?

Taani: Okay pehen lungi. Abh aap jao warna late ho jaoge.

(After an hour Taani is Ready in her room. She is finding it awkward to come out of her room. The doorbell rings. Swayam opens the door and finds Rey.)

Rey is wearing this:

Swayam: Rey tu akela aaya? Niki nahi aayi?

Rey: Voh Sharon ke ghar gayi hai to dressup. Chal hume nikalna chahiye else late hoga. Taani kaha hai?

Swayam: Apne kamre mein. Kabse usse bula raha hoon, bahar hi nahi aa rahi. Shit mein apna phone room mein bhul gaya. Mein voh leke aata hoon, tab tak tum jaake Taani ko bula lao.

Rey: (thinking) Kahin uss dress ki wajah se toh Taani? Oh God Rey jaake baat kar Taani se. (knocks her door) Taani tum ready ho?

Taani: (to herself) Rey aa bhi gaye. (to Rey) Haan bas doo.. do min.. aa.. aa rahi hu ba.. bahar.

(Rey understands that Taani isn't comfortable and opens the door and comes in to talk to her but is mesmerized by her beauty. Taani was looking very beautiful. Taani couldn't handle his intense gaze so turns around. Rey dreamingly walks towards her.)

Rey: (goes near her ears) Beautiful! (Taani turns crimson red😳) (Rey is trying real hard to control his emotions. He knows its not the time to take any step further in their relationship, so he steps back.) Taani, I know tum iss dress mein comfortable nahi ho aur mein tumhe force nahi karna chahata. So, tum jis bhi dress mein comfortable ho vo pehenke bahar aa jao. We are waiting for you. (Saying this he leaves her room.)

Swayam: Sharon ka phone tha. They are waiting. Taani kaha hai?

Rey: Haan vo bas.. (he looks at her door and is shocked to see her in he same dress. He is staring at her dreamily and Taani is blushing hard.)

Swayam: Rey. (no response) Rey. (again no response) REY! (Rey comes out of his trance.) Taani tum sure ho tum ye pehen ke aa rhi ho?

Taani: Haan bhai. Abh chalo warna late ho jayega.

Rey (softly): Taani tum?

Taani: Rey mujhe yehi dress pehenna hai. (gives an assuring smile😊)

(They leave TaaYam's house, pick up everyone on their way and go to the club.)

Swayam: Niki jab tum pehli baar humse mili thi  tabi apna naam Niki Singh bataya tha. Nikita ka Niki samjha but Singh?

Niki: Mujhe Nikita yeh naam pasand nahi hai and Niki Singh-a-ni-a bohot bada ho jata hai. So short and simple. Niki Singh.

Sharon: Are you sure ki yehi baat hai?

Rey: What do you mean Sharon?

Niki: Yansh nothing. Di kuch bhi bolti rehti hai.😡

Nil: Guys baithe baithe bore ho raha hai.

Sharon: Ok den let's hit the dance floor.

(Rey is dancing with Taani as well as Niki. Some people are observing them from a distance. No one from the gang notices. After hours of dancing and partying all decide to leave. Niki and Taani walking ahead and the gang is way behind. A few men come and surround them.[Niki and Taani])
