Btw, Rin i wanted to tell u this yesterday when u were asking about books but bhool gayi..Have u read Gone with the Wind? If not, do check it out..Its awesome

I just finished up Emma, was thinking of watching the BBC adaptations of North n South before searching for the book.

Nope but I heard some reviews on it by a few friends, they did not like the heroine Scarlet O hara much. They criticised that she was very self obbessed and so on... So I wasn't sure about it.
Lol, Gone with the Wind is not everyone's cup of tea..If you love tragedies, you should check it outLOL

On that note I've never understood the fascination with Wuthering Heights, as much as i like tragedy.

Perhaps my emotional quotient is not nearly as enough for complicated, eternal sort of love beyond the grave types of stories. LOL

@Rajini:

I was rather curious about it actually, heard so much of it. Its referred to in so many movies n tv shows but the reviews I got made me unsure.
BuT I haven't read a good tragedy novel in a long time... Ill add it to ever growing list LOL
hope I get time to read all these books.

@Del:
The love story is between her and the brothers right? Both brothers like her or something of that sort?

Frankly my dear i don't give a damn.

Epic dialogue is epic.

Although i think it doesn't feature in the book? But that scene is iconic. It was the first swear word used in cinema!
I know people think of Scarlett as self obsessed but she is actually one of my favorite fictional characters..There were just so many instances where i could relate to her

Very understandable.

I think as a woman she made her own choices, whether they were right or wrong. She was a very bold female character, esp considering the time at which the book was written.

Yes she's definitely an iconic character.

Yes i stand alone in my distaste for WH LOL Like I said small emotional quotient.

We have the likes of Austen, the Bronte sisters who wrote such inspiring female characters much ahead of their times... and then we have SM who wrote Bella. Ermm

And isn't it ironic that Bella's favorite book was supposed to be Wuthering Heights?LOL I could never understand how such a shallow, self obsessed and annoying person could connect to a story so deep and high on the emotional quotientLOL
