Chapter 1: A walk
together.
2013, November
I walk alone.
In the chilling cold, with no hand to hold.
I often wonder how it feels to be loved. Truly, madly,
deeply.
Will life be so lonely then? Will my heart ever reach out
to him?
A beautiful girl was walking alone in the lone jungle of
Nainital. Clad in a beautiful white saree. Angel like features, but whoever
knew her would know her turmoil. The
forest lamented with her, for her broken soul. A cold evening, with a beautiful
girl walking around was a sight to behold for a pair of eyes, hiding behind
trees, following her through the forest, as though being her soul.
Trying to be soundless proved futile. For noise he made with
his steps. Scared was the angel in white.
"Who is it?" spoke the
angel.
No sound.
"Stop following me" she
whispered. A lone tear escaping her eyes.
She walked again through the forest and he followed her.
The trees and the winds knew this to be a routine.
My angel, how can I ever stop following you?
How can I let you go through this alone?
I need not anything else my angel, but see your beautiful
face.
How I wish to see a smile on your beautiful face.
How I so wish I be the reason behind your smile.
How I wish you would let me in your heart...again...
Fear not my angel, for I shall be the shadow to your
broken soul.
I shall mend it all.
The forests of Nainital would be the witness to the undying effort
of a lover.
Witness to the turmoil and pain of a broken soul.
Witness to their journey of love.
The angel arrived in her cottage. A one room cottage, with
just enough furniture and a small kitchen.
Removing her coat, she
made her way to the kitchen, preparing herself a cup of ginger tea. No not one,
but two cups...
He reached his
cottage, across the angels cottage. Opened the window to let the fresh breeze
from in his cottage. Always hoping the breeze must have gone past his angel.
The angel stepped
outside, sat on one of the two steps to her main door. Waiting for him.
He came. Sat beside
her.
Hi Khushi.
Hello Arnav.
A: Thank you for the tea.
K: Mention not. How was your day?
A:It was fine. How was yours?
K: The usual.
Silence.
A:How long will you do this to yourself Khushi?
K:Do what Arnav?
A:This. Torture yourself. Let it all go. Please...
K:I cannot, Arnav.
A:You can. If you listen to your heart.
K:Did you?
She spoke these words with such contempt that it broke Arnav's
heart just a little bit more.
K:Did you?
She repeated.
A:I...Khushi...No. And I was a fool.
K: The hatred is killing me, Arnav.
A: Then why do you hate?
K: It is all that I have left in me, Arnav.
It is all that I remember.
Arnav gets to his knees. Holding Khushi's hands in his,he
thus spoke.
A: Khushi, just let me take you through this. I promise I will never
let any hate near us.
K: There was never any "US"
A: There was...if there was anything, it was "US"...if only you let
me...
She cut him before he could re-assure her...
K: I don't believe you.
A: You don't want to.
K: Arnav, time to go in. The wind is too
cold.
A: Khushi, let me in please.
K: Good night, Arnav.
A: Don't forget to take your medicine.
K: You too.
Arnav stood there as she locked the door to her cottage.
And he walked to his cottage.
Across her cottage.
My angel, I will wipe away all your tears.
I will give you all the happiness you have always
deserved.
I will get in.
I hate you.
I will never let you in.
I will never give you the chance to repent.
A new day tomorrow, I shall try again, Khushi.
Try all that you can, Arnav.
The night sets in. New resolutions made by two lost lovers.
Whose resolution will break?
Shall hate over rule love?
Shall love over rule hate?
Will hate for love rule it all? Or will love for hate end it
all?
