Just a small discussion regarding the real mount Kailash and lake manasarovar which is in Tibet.

This is the pic of the real mount kailash.

According to Hinduism, Lord Shiva, the destroyer of ignorance and illusion, resides at the summit of a legendary mountain named Kailasa, where he sits in a state of perpetual meditation along with his wife Parvati.

According to Charles Allen, one description in the Vishnu Purana of the mountain states that its four faces are made of crystal, ruby, gold, and lapis lazuli. It is a pillar of the world and is located at the heart of six mountain ranges symbolizing a lotus.

The ancient Koneswaram temple of Trincomalee is heralded as "Dakshina Kailasam"/"Then Kailasam" (Kailash of the South) because it lies on exactly the same longitude as Mount Kailash and due to its pre-eminence in Saivite belief. Koneswaram's early black granite rock-cut architectural style shared similarities to famous Kailasanathar Temples of the subcontinent, named after the mountain peak. Koneswaram's traditional history and legends were compiled into the Tamil corpus Tevaram and the Sanskrit treatises Dakshina Kailasa Puranam ' Sthala Puranam of Koneswaram, written in 1380 by Jeyaveera Cinkaiariyan, and the Dakshina Kailasa Manmiam ' three chapters of the Skanda Puranam of unknown antiquity ' manuscripts of which have been discovered and dated from the 5th ' 7th century.

Many of the Kailasanathar temple's sculptures and relics depict episodes relating to Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati, including Ravana's tale. (Ravana was a devotee of Lord Shiva. Ramayana does not document Ravana shaking the mountain.) Ravana's mother had fallen ill. As they were great Lord Shiva devotees, he had attempted to carry the temple on his back to bring it closer to his mother. Shiva, being stunned by his boldness, had blessed him with immortality as Ravana had passed Lord Shiva's test of devotion.

As per Hindu theology, Lake Manasa Sarovar is a personification of purity, and one who drinks water from the lake will go to the Abode of Lord Shiva after death. He is believed to be cleansed of all his sins committed over even a hundred lifetimes.

Like Mount Kailash, Lake Manasa Sarovar is a place of pilgrimage, attracting religious people from India, Nepal, Tibet and the neighboring countries. Bathing in the Manasa Sarovar and drinking its water is believed to cleanse all sins. Pilgrimage tours are organized regularly, especially from India, the most famous of which is the Kailash Manasa Sarovar Yatra which takes place every year. Pilgrims come to take ceremonial baths in the cleansing waters of the lake.

Manasasarovar lake has long been viewed by the pilgrims as being nearby to the sources of four of the greatest rivers of Asia, namely the Brahmaputra, Karnali, Indus and Sutlej. Thus it is an axial point which has been thronged to by pilgrims for thousands of years. The region was initially closed to pilgrims from the outside; no foreigners were allowed between 1949 and 1980. After the 1980s it has again become a part of the Indian pilgrim trail.

According to the Hindu religion, the lake was first created in the mind of the Lord Brahma after which it manifested on Earth. Hence, in Sanskrit it is called "Manasa sarovaram", which is a combination of the words manasa (mind) and sarovaram (lake). The lake, in Hindu religious belief, is also supposed to be the summer abode of the Hamsa goose. Considered to be sacred, the Hamsa is an important element in the symbology of the subcontinent, representing wisdom and beauty.

MATTER OF DISCUSSION

In DKDM Mount Kailash is shown to be having lush green forests flowers fruits birds and animals. I mean its shown blooming with life. But today Kailash parvat is covered with so much of ice and the temperature there is below zero degrees celsius that its highly impossible that life could exist in such a frozen place. Is it that the mountain was not covered with snow thousands of years ago when  lord shiva and mata parvati actually stayed there and the events shown today (like shiva-parvati marriage kartikeya's birth ganesh's birth etc etc) happened at a time when himalayas were not covered with snow?Smile

Is is said & some people have seen some aashrams exists in Himalayas & Tibet in a different plane not visible to a normal eye. They are full of Greenary, lakes etc. Some of our rishis, Sidhhas stay there to do Sadhana. Even on Kailash there are such non visible planes where Lord Shiva, Paravtima, stays. Only very well Spiritually developed people can get a glimpse of such plane.

You need to become a Siddha , coz likewise  we cannot see the Lush greenary of Kailash, similarly in Kashi on one of the Samshan Ghat in between the Land & sky, meaning Mid Air, there's a temple of Lord Shiva, which only great Yogis can See , it's been mentioned in Skand puran.
Another Reason can also be (for Kailash) . Due to Drastic Climatic Changes The Beauty of Green Nature has diminished...

My aunt had been on a trip to mount kailash n lake manasarovar for a trip n she told me that there's below zero degrees temperature there. n it was difficult for her to breathe also. she said she was fortunate to have returned back alive. as far as we know the parvat is fully covered with white ice from top to bottom. theres no possibility of vegetation under such severe climatic conditions. but they say that there's a secret garden in kailash.

i could hear interesting stories from her which the sages n others tell. will post here in the forum soon.Big smile

ya even i ve heard of stories of sages on penance in the himalayas and such aashrams do exist. but thing is my aunt has also visited such an aashram. those ppl have the power to survive even under extreme climatic conditions coz they have gained that power due to their intense penance.
regarding invisible planes i ve heard but we cant be sure whether such planes actually exist. but there have been stories.Big smile

As I've said one has to be very highly Spiritually developed to see them. Some of our immortal rishis too do their sadhanas in these aashrams. It's up to the person to believe or not to believe. But if you read about Sidhha yogis, most of them have done their penanace there & continued their lives for betterment of humans. They are asked to guide those seek guidence, by their Guru.
