Road accidents are something that we as Indians are familiar with. We all have had at least one accident in our life time. Daily people die because of road accidents. India leads in the world in number of road accidents per year.  This alarming statistics has worsened to mean that every minute there is a road accident and every four minute there is a death due to it. What are the reasons for this? Is it that drivers do not follow rules or flout them? Negligence, irresponsibility and speed kills people.

In Arjun ' Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek, the ETF Team has a case to solve of hit and run road accident where the victim,  a lady has died. As ACP Chief Sameer Rathore (Behzaad Khan) and ACP Arjun Suryakant Rawte (Shaleen Malhotra) and the rest of the members Chhotu (Ketan Karande), Aayesha Kapoor (Shital Shah), Shree (Siddharth Sen) and Liza D'cruz (Ritu Chauhan) investigate the crime scene; they find that there is more to this. It is a premeditated murder. Reporting their investigation is  Sakshi Anand (Mrunal Thakur).

The ETF Team has a task of solving this crime, however as they investigate the crime, we at Forum 32 would like to inform you all that accidents are part of the show as well. In the past 65 episodes, there have been accidents on the set, though nothing fatal has happened however despite safety measures being employed, something goes wrong. We told you about the accident where a junior artist, a girl got hurt and has suffered 12 stitches on her head. A week back there was short circuit on the set and a guy's hand got burnt. There is a first aid kit on the set and immediate help is provided to the people, however, while accidents happen, preventing them is something that everyone must endeavour to do.

Here are some road safety tips

1.  Don't use your mobile phone whilst driving - Making or receiving a call, even using a 'hands free' phone, can distract your attention from driving and could lead to an accident.
2. Belt up in the back - In a collision, an unbelted rear passenger can kill or seriously injure the driver or a front seat passenger.
3. Don't drink and drive - Any alcohol, even a small amount , can impair your driving so be a safe driver don't drive and drive.
4. Always adhere to speed limits ' Slow Down - At 35mph/56kmph you are twice as likely to kill a pedestrian than at 30mph/48kmph.
5. Take special care about children, senior citizens and pedestrians. - Children often act impulsively, take extra care outside schools, near buses and ice cream vans when they might be around.
6. Don't drive if tired - Tiredness is thought to be a major factor in more than 10% of road accidents. Plan to stop for at least a 15 minute break every 2 hours on a long journey.
7. Pedestrians should walk cautiously - When crossing a road always use a pedestrian crossing if there is one nearby. Help others to see you by wearing fluorescent or reflective clothing in poor light conditions.
8. Always observe and anticipate other road users - Observe and anticipate other road users and use your mirrors regularly.
9. Keep your distance - Always keep a two second gap between you and the car in front.
10. Always wear helmets and seat belts - Helmets are estimated to be 37 percent effective in preventing fatal injuries to motorcyclists.  This means for every 100 motorcyclists killed in crashes while not wearing a helmet, 37 of them could have been saved had all 100 worn helmets. Seat belts dramatically reduce risk of death and serious injury. Among drivers and front-seat passengers, seat belts reduce the risk of death by 45%, and cut the risk of serious injury by 50%.
