CHAPTER – 2
Nupur,in her room,was sitting alone and thinking about how her life would be after marriage.Apparently,she liked the family of Mayank and obviously Mayank's polite behavior also,but still she was scared because she couldnot trust anyone or rather she was unable to trust her fate.She started understanding everything at a very tender age of course due to the courtesy of her parents and her family,so she earlier had the misconception that Mayank's family would just be like her own,but her misconception broke to a certain limit.She was thinking about her would be in-laws when suddenly,she remembered about Mayank's gift.She took it from the drawyer and opened it.There were a beautiful pair of anklets and they were quite expensive also.She was having a different feeling whether to have this gift or not since no one ever gifted her anything except Uday and Disha.She was admiring it when someone from the doorstep asked,"Ye kahase aaye?"The anklets fall from her hand and she saw that Gayatri was standing.Nupur immediately stood up and said,"Vo…vo…vo…ma…vo…ye…"Gayatri entered inside and with a cold voice asked,"Maine kuch pucha hai Nupur,ye kahase aaya?"Nupur stepped back a few steps back and replied,"Vo…vo…vo…vo jo aaye the…un…unhone…diya…Maine…ku-ku-kuch nehi kiya ma."Tears rolled down from her eyes.Gayatri asked,"Maanavji ya Suhaasiniji ne diya?"Nupur nodded her head.Gayatri asked,"Mayank ne diya?"She agreed by nodding her head.She asked,"Usne diya aur tune le liya?Tujhe pata hai na hamaare ghar ke sanskaar ke larka larki shaadi se pehle ek dusre se baat bhi nehi karte hai aur tune uska diya gift le liye?"Nupur replied,"Main…main…nehi lena chahti thi…par vo…papa ke dost hai na…to kahi agar unko bura laga…to isliye maine le liya.Aap le lijiye unko…waapas de dena."Saying Nupur handed the anklets over to Gayatri.Gayatri looked at those anklets and then said,"Chahe kuch bhi kare par hai to vo larkewaale hi na,isliye hume unki saari baatein maanni paregi.Rakhle inhe varna Mayank ko agar pata chala to usko bura lag sakta hai."Saying she returned the anklets to Nupur and warned,"Par aagey se dhyaan rakhna.Filhaal to main tere papa ko kuch nehi bolungi lekin agli baar se aisi koi galti main bardaasht nehi karnewaali hu."Nupur nodded her head like an obedient girl.At that moment,Disha also arrived in Nupur's room.Seeing her,Gayatri said,"Disha ab zara apni chaheti nanad ko ghar ke kaam kaaj bhi sikhaao.Shaadi honewaali hai iski dhyaan rakhna kahi sasural jaakar hamaari naak na katwade."Disha,was the only member in the house,after Uday,who protested whenever something injustice was done to Nupur.She said,"Iski ghar ke kaam kaaj sikhaane ki koi zarurat nehi hai mummyji,kyuki ye sab vo us umar se karna jaanti hai jis umar mein larkiya apne maayke mein hasti khelti hai bas fark itna hi hai ke usey ye sab karne ka mauka hi nehi mila ya phir agar sach kahu to usey ye mauka diya hi nehi gaya."Gayatri angrily asked,"Tum kehna ya chahti ho?"She replied,"Main kya kehna chahti hu ye aap bohot achchi tarah se samajh rahi hai.Sach kahu to isbaar main khud chahti hu ke Nupur ki shaadi jald se jald ho jaaye taaki usey is ghar se mukti miley.Main is ghar ki bahu hu phir bhi keh rahi hu ke aap sabne jo ghar ki lakshmi ka apmaan kiya hai na bhagwaan sab dekh rahe hai aur ek din aap sabko uska hisaab dena hoga."Nupur tried to stop her,"Bhabhi…Aap aisa mat boliye."Gayatri raised her finger on her face and said,"Ab tu apna hadh bhul rahi hai Disha.""Isne galat kya kaha hai ma?"Everyone turned back and found Uday standing there.Uday said,"Sahi hi to hai aajtak kya ek bhi din pyar se Nupur ke sar par haath hilakar usse pyar se baat ki aapne?Nehi na.Uske bachpan se lekar aajtak aap logo ne uske saath insaano jaisa sulook bhi kabhi nehi kiya."Gayatri sarcastically replied,"Ha ha tu to hai hi joru ka ghulam.Yehi din dekhne ke liye hi to tujhe paida kiya tha.Bol le tu bhi."Uday took a deep breath and said,"Mujhe aapse kuch bhi nehi kehna hai ma.Bas itni beenti karna chahta hu ke Nupur abhi is ghar mein zyaada dino ki mehmaan nehi hai to isliye jitney din hai usey thori chain ki saans le lene dijiye.Usey kuch din ye ehsaas kar lene dijiye ke vo apne maayke mein hai bas aur kuch nehi chahiye."Gayatri glared at Uday,Disha and Nupur and then left.
Nupur dashed on the bed and started weeping.She said,"Abhi…abhi…ma…ma jaakar pa..papa se meri shi-shikaayat karegi aur…aur phir papa…papa aakar mujhe bo-bohot daatenge."Saying she started crying like a baby.Disha felt sorry for her and hugged her.She said,"Tu ro mat Nupur.Dekhna koi kuch nehi kahega tujhe.Achcha bol mummyji ne kyu data tujhe?"Nupur showed her the anklets and said,"Ye…inke vajah se.Vo…vo jo aaye the na…Mayankji…un-unhone diya tha."Disha took the anklets and admired them a lot.She said,"Arey vaah kitni khubsurat payal hai.Maanna parega Mayank ki choice bohot achchi hai."Uday asked,"Pehle ye to bataao Nupur rani Mayank tumhe kaisa laga?"By that time slowly slowly she stopped crying and said,"Mere pasand napasand se kya hota hai bhaiya.Uske to koi maayne hi nehi hai.Jo meri kismat mein likha hoga vohi to hoga na aur meri kismat ka faisla to ma aur papa lenge."Disha said,"Kisiki kismat ka faisla koi dusra nehi leta hai.Tere kismat ka faisla to bohot pehle hi ho chuka hai aur rahi baat Mayank ki to mujhe to uski family aur unke thoughts bohot achche lage aur vo khud tum yakeen nehi karoge Uday,aaj jis tarah se vo hamaari Nupur ko dekh raha tha na usse to saaf saaf pata chal raha tha ke vo Nupur ko pasand karta hai."Nupur held Disha's hand and said,"Par bhabhi mujhe bohot dar lag raha hai kahi vo log bhi ma aur papa jaisa bartaav kare to?Mujhe bohot ghabraahat ho rahi hai."Uday replied,"Dekh Nupur jo hamesha dusro ke baare mein sochte hai aur achcha sochte hai na bhagwaan unke saath kabhi bura nehi karte aur hum dono to hai na.Tu fikar mat kar ma papa bhale hi tujhe bojh samjhe par tu hamaare liye hamaari zimmedaari hai aur hum tujhe aise hi kisike haatho thore hi saup denge.Tu dar mat hum hai na agar zarurat pari to main kisi dusri jagah pe job dhundh lunga aur hum dono tujhe apne saath lekar jaayenge."Nupur hugged Uday and said,"Thank you bhaiya."He kissed on her head and said,"Welcome choti."
Days passed by and Nupur and Mayank's marriage got fixed.The Sharma family sent a costume and jewellery for engagement and marriage. Mayank was very very happy as well as excited regarding their marriage.Though,Nupur acted to be happy in front of everyone but from inside she was not and the more the marriage date was getting closer,she was getting more and more scared.The engagement was arranged in a lavish way.During the marriage,Nupur dressed so beautifully that she was looking like an angel.Everyone were admiring her but Mayank's condition was much more pathetic,since he was so much captured by her beauty that he kept on drooling over her only rather than concentrating on the rituals.With everyones blessings,finally Mayank and Nupur got married.During bidaai,Uday said to Mayank,"Hamaari Nupur bohot naazuk hai.Koi bhi agar usse thori si uchi awaaz mein baat kar le to vo ghabraakar rone lagti hai isiliye agar usse kabhi koi bhul ho jaaye to bachchi samajhke maaf kar dijiyega."Uday said all these by joining his hands.Mayank held his hands and replied,"Aap fikar mat kijiye bhaiya.Nupur ko hamaare ghar mein koi bhi taklif nehi hogi.Hum uska bohot dhyaan rakkhenge."Nupur cried and hugged only Uday,Disha and Karan and took other's blessings only and then left with her in-laws.
[ SHARMA HOUSE ]
Nupur received a grand welcome in her new home.Mayank has two bothers.Aditya,the eldest one and wife Saloni with a 10 years old son Rahul and Aakash,the second eldest one with his wife Mala and 6 years old daughter Palak.Everyone happily welcomed her with open hands.Both the DIL stayed in home,to make the preparations of welcome.Saloni held Nupur's chin and said,"Ye to tasveer se bhi zyaada khubsurat hai mummyji."Mala agreed,"Ha didi,bohot chun kar heera dhundh kar laaye ho aap devarji."Mayank's family was very very lovely (just like SASURAAL GENDA PHOOL).Everyone loved each other and maintained a very lovable environment.Nupur took everyones blessings and stepped inside.Suhaasini said,"Sharma parivaar mein tumhaara swaagat hai Nupur aur aaj se tum is ghar ki teesri lakshmi ho."Maanav agreed,"Ha aaj jaakar meri bhi team puri hui."Everyone laughed out.Both the DIL made them sit inside and started teasing them.Suhaasini said,"Ab tum dono bas bhi karo.Bichaare thak haar kar aaye hai aaj unhe araam kar lene do kal jitna chiraana hai,jitni taang khichaai karni hai kar lena aur vaise bhi kal nayi bahu ke haatho pehli puja karwaani hai,rasoi ki rasam karaani hai aur phir muh dikhaai ki rasam bhi to hai.Kitna kaam hai aur isliye kal subhe Nupur ko jaldi uthna bhi hai.Chalo inko jaane do."Saloni teased,"Ha ha Mayank se to abhi se hi sabr nehi ho raha hoga ke kab vo andar jaayega aur kab…"They started giggling.Saloni and Mala took Nupur inside Mayank's bedroom.
They made her sit on the bed and Mala said,"Dil to bara zor se dhadak raha hoga na tumhaara.Hota hai pehli pehli baar aisa hota hai par fikar mat karo dheere dheere aadat par jaayegi.Ab tum betho hum to chale kyuki kisika haal bahaar bilkul bhi achcha nehi hai.Pata nehi abtak to paagal bhi ho chuka hoga."Saying,she put down the veil over Nupur and both left.Nupur was really afraid since everyone there were strangers for her and so she didn't utter a single word after entering SH.She was sitting quietly and thinking about here and there,when she heard someone entered inside.Nupur's heart gave a loud bump and she squeezed with fear.She heard the sounds of footsteps.Each footsteps were appearing as if someone was aiming and throwing heavy stones pointing her heart.From inside her veil,she saw that Mayank sat in front of her.Slowly,Mayank raised his hands and unveiled her.He looked very lovingly towards her and with one hand he cared her face.His fingers traced her beautiful face.On the other side,Nupur's eyes slowly started filling up with tear.She never felt the touch of her parents and here Mayank was total unknown to her.Mayank slowly started removing her earings followed by her necklace and replacing them with kisses.When he was just about to kiss on her lips,tears fall down from her eyes and she started weeping silently.Mayank realized that she was weeping so he left her.He was confused thinking whether unintentionally she was hurt by him.He asked,"Kya hua tum ro kyu rahi ho?"She didn't reply but kept on crying.He again asked,"Meri kisi harkat se tumhe bura laga ya mera kareeb aana tumhe achcha nehi laga?"She nodded her head.He thought she might be missing her home.He asked,"Gharwaalo ki yaad aa rahi hai?"Nupur didn't have any memory with her parents so there was no question of missing them.So she again nodded her head.He very lovingly asked,"To phir??"She said,"Vo…vo…main…vo…"Mayank held his hand and asked,"Ha bolo,koi pareshaani hai?Kya tum…kya tum is shaadi se khush nehi ho?"She replied,"Nehi…nehi…aisi…ko-ko-koi…baat nehi hai…vo…main…"He asked,"Tumhe dar lag raha hai?"She agreed and nodded her head.Mayank gave a sigh of relief.He smiled and said,"Bas itni si baat???Main to dar hi gaya tha ke pata nehi shaayad tum is shaadi se khush nehi ho.Tum daro mat aisa to har larki ke saath hota hai.Apna ghar hamesha ke liye chorkar pehli baar ek naye mahaul mein aane ke baad aisa hota hai.Dheere dheere sab thik ho jaayega."She said,"Aap-aap-aap mere ma papa ko kuch mat bolna…varna…varna…vo mujhe bohot daatenge."Mayank was simply captured by her innocence and so he giggled,"Main tumhaare ma papa ko kya bataaunga aur kyu?Dekho Nupur ab hum dono pati patni hai.Hamaari ek alag bohot hi khaas duniya jisme hamaare alava aur kisike liye koi jagah nehi hai.Is kamre ke andar ya phir hamaare zindagi mein jo kuch bhi hoga vo hamaara hoga hamaari personal baat,iske beech mein kabhi koi nehi aa sakta.Hum ek dusre se apni saari problems share karenge agar tumhe mujhse koi shikaayat ya koi problem ho to tum mujhe bolna thik vaise hi main bhi tumhe bolunga aur phir hum apni saari problems ek dusre ke saath milkar solve karenge.Isika naam to shaadi hai."Nupur asked,"To aap kisiko kuch nehi bataayenge na?"He was very amused at her question and so he replied,"Achcha bolo main kya bataaunga unko ke meri biwi suhaagraat mein ro rahi thi?Agar ye baat kisiko bataayi na to sab hasenge tumpar aur main apni biwi ka mazaak thore hi bana sakta hu?"She tried to say something but Mayank stopped her and said,"Relax Nupur.Just relax."He wiped her tears and gave her a glass of water.She emptied the glass.He said,"Ek kaam karo tum jaakar change karlo,ye kapre aur jewelleries bhi bohot heavy hai na tumhe raat ko achche se neend bhi nehi aayegi aur tumhe kal subhe uthna bhi to hai.Jaao aur…"He took a pause and then pointed towards the necklace and earings and said,"Inke liye…Iam sorry."Nupur didn't say anything and slowly got up from her bed and went to the washroom.
After coming out,she saw that Mayank too had changed.He put some cushions in the middle of the bed from the sofa and lied down on one half.Nupur,too silently lied down on the bed and closed her eyes.After sometime,she opened her eyes and called Mayank,"Suniye?"He opened his eyes and asked,"Kya?Kuch chahiye?"She said,"Nehi.Vo mujhe aapko thank you kehna tha."He asked,"Kyu?"She replied,"Vo aapne bola na ke aap mere ma papa ko kuch nehi kahenge…isiliye."Mayank could not but stop laughing and said,"You're welcome abhi tum so jaao aur kisi bhi cheez ki zarurat ho to mujhe bata dena."She obediently nodded her head and closed her eyes.Mayank smiled on seeing her sleeping face and said in his mind,"Koi itna masoom kaise ho sakta hai?Ispar to koi chahkar bhi naraaz ho hi nehi sakta.Hamesha aise hi rehna Nupur,tum kabhi mat badalna.I love you."He then too closed his eyes.
