Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

'Since when does time move so slowly?' the man thought to himself.

He had flown into Bhopal just last evening but he already wanted to go back home. The absence from his family was killing him.

'If only they could have come on this trip . . .  he thought.

'But this was work related." He chided himself. His family would have been bored to death. Besides, he would be back home soon.

Just not soon enough.

He looked around the office. The plush interiors, the polished surfaces and the glass panels were a dead giveaway about the owner's identity.

The owner.

He hadn't met him in two years.

Two entire years.

It was too long a gap, he had decided.

Which was why he had leapt at the opportunity to come to Bhopal on this sudden business trip.

The owner had to be spoken to.

It was a must.

"Those were my orders." He muttered to himself.

The receptionist looked up at his muttering. He shot him a dirty glare and leaned back into his seat.

He resisted the urge to walk straight into the office.

He was a man of power, of fame and of principles.

And it was against one of his principles to walk into someone's office without an appointment.

However familiar he may be with the person in question.

And this was a business trip, at least on the outside.

His phone beeped, indicating a new text message.

He looked down at it and smiled.

"Don't forget what needs to be said." He read to himself.

The message was from the only person in the universe he believed in, without a doubt.

"Of course I will." He replied.

He was growing restless. It was against his nature to actually wait for someone to call him into a room.

Normally, people would usher him in. He was grade-A company, after all.

He reminded himself that this was to be a surprise for the owner.

He got up and walked around the lobby, carefully scanning the area. He took note of the paintings on the walls; he could use a few of those in his own office.

He surveyed the room once again and walked to the receptionist's desk.

The man cowered in his seat and he smirked. He knew the effect he had on people.

His name was 5th on the list.

"I've been waiting too long." He thought to himself.

He sighed and sat back down. He decided to get some fresh air and make a few phone calls.

He missed home.

 --xxx--

He walked back in, twenty minutes later. The first thing he noticed was that there was an apparent change in the receptionist.

There was now a short girl sitting at the table who was staring at the computer screen like it were God.

The owner's employees seemed to be as focussed as him.

A sudden idea struck his head and he stopped in his tracks.

It was a risk, yes. But he was willing to take it. He was bored out of his wits and he wanted to meet the owner now.

He didn't have much time left.

He walked towards the desk, his aura reeked power.

The receptionist looked at the shadow which loomed over her and inhaled sharply.

She looked at his features and felt the woman inside her burn with desire.

He was a fine man.

His eyes held her captive. They were windows to his soul.

Before she could remember where she had seen him, he muttered something under his breath.

She snapped out of her reverie and took in his appearance. He was dressed immaculately.

"SHIT!" she thought to herself. He was probably part of the client group from Amsterdam.

She felt herself shivering under his powerful gaze. He opened his mouth to say something, but she beat him to it.

"Sir, you can go right in! I'm---- I'm sorry for keeping you waiting!" she half-yelled in panic.

He looked at her and for a split second, he was confused. This was not the plan.

But he was a businessman, he always capitalized on opportunities.

"Sir, you're part of the client group from Mr.Mikkelsen's side, right?" she said, trying to sound professional.

He nodded expertly, his cool demeanour scaring her.

She ushered him to her Boss's office and said, "Sorry again, Sir! I didn't know you would be this early!"

He smiled at her, a genuine smile. Poor girl was scared to death.

As he moseyed his way through the path that led to the owner's office, he couldn't help but think to himself that he was going against his principles.

He sighed to himself and he stopped walking.

The text message from earlier flashed through his mind.

This wasn't a lost cause. He had to do this.

For the owner's sake.
