This soap opera follows the classic love story of two unique individuals, Angad & Kripa - as different as chalk and cheese, yet destined to fall in love.
Kaisa yeh pyar hai has 325 episodes. The serial starts out with a very young girl, (Kripa Sharma)who live in a small city called Nainitaal. She has a passion for music and also is deeply and blindly in love with a very famous singer, Angad Khanna, from Mumbai. As Kripa watches Angad on TV she sees him as a perfect human being who values the emotion "love" as understands it.
She travels to Mumbai in the hopes of seeing him. One night as she is walking by a room, she sees Angad having a fling with a random girl. She hears Angad saying that he thinks "love is a commodity" and only pretends that love is beautiful to preserve his television reputation. Kripa is in despair but still loves Khanna. So one day she gets an offer to tryout for a concert with angad and while she is rehearsing she drops something on the ground and leans over to pick it up...as she is doing this Angad gives her a slight pat on her behind. Kripa slaps Angad in outrage. Angad is furious, and treats her like dirt. Kripa befriends Prithvhi who reciprocates her love, but they are in a love triangle: Prithvhi loves Kripa, Prithvi's younger sister, Mishti, loves Angad...but Angad comes to love Kripa as they get to know each other while doing their television performances.
Kripa;s and Angad's parents arrange Kripa and Prithvi's engagement, but after Angad realises he loves Kripa, Kripa tells Prithvhi she cannot marry him as she does not love him. Prithvi had thought that Kripa loved him because Kripa's friend Harshini was too shy to express her love for Prithvi and induced Kripa to give him a love letter on her behalf. and so when all of this is over...Kripa and Angad love each other like crazy and get together and make love...after all of this happens Angad explains to Kripa that she does not have to feel bad for making love. Many people are upset with Kripa and angads relationship..like Naina (angads mother) Mishti and Prithvi. Naina, angads mother hates Kripa because she is not wealthy and plots to break the two up. Mishti loves Angad and Prithvi loves Krpia and so they can't see Kripa and Angad together.
