Hello everyone, well here I am with a Ariy OS after a long time.
I started this OS as part of challenge given to me by Kashish for WOTW thread and I always wanted to finish it but never got a chance to, but now I have finished it.OS: Apology
"Riya!" Arjun shouted but it did him no good since Riya refused to stop let alone listen to him. He had been trying to apologize to her since this morning but she refused to even be in the same room with him. Each time he entered the room she would leave and if she couldn't leave then she kept her face turned away from him.
Arjun was quickly losing patience, in fact, he was no longer in the mood to pacify her and be calm when saying he is sorry for the harsh words he spoke to her the day before. He saw her enter her cabin, then glanced at his teammates who were trying hard not to laugh at his predicament.
Arjun saw Rathore hide his amusement and glared at him. "What is so funny Rathore?"
Rathore stopped pretending and grinned at his friend openly. "You," he said to Arjun. "It is great to see the great Arjun Raute brought down notch or two." Chottu and Shree snickered but the smiles were wiped off of their faces when Arjun turned his glare on them.
By this time Arjun was fuming and left the conference room without saying another word. He marched straight to Riya's cabin and barged in without knocking on the door. His anger melted instantly when he saw Riya standing by the window, silent tears rolling down her cheeks. He turned to close and lock the door then walked towards her.
Riya heard the door close and lock and wiped her tears quickly. "What do you want Arjun sir? Leave me alone, I don't want to hear anything you have to say." She tried to walk past him but he grabbed her arm to stop her.
Riya instantly struggled to get out of his grip, "Let me go sir, I told you I don't want to hear anything you have to say."
Arjun ignored her and kept gazing into her eyes, he knew he had hurt her badly this time; the pain in her eyes was hard to miss. He felt ashamed for hurting her so badly. He wrapped his other arm around her to halt her struggles then slowly walked her backward until her back was against the wall and there was no way for her to escape.
He leaned forward and kissed her forehead, "I am sorry Riya I am an idiot." He then kissed both of her eyelids close, "Please forgive me for being so arrogant and rude," he moved to her left cheek to give her a lingering kiss before moving to her right cheek to do the same, "Please give me one more chance to make up for my stupidity."
By this time Riya had melted but she continued to hold back and not acknowledge his apology.
Arjun cupped her face with both of his hands and gave her the gentlest kiss on her lips; once he felt her lips under his he couldn't help but deepen the kiss. That's all it took for both Arjun and Riya to forget everything but the feelings the kiss aroused in each.
Arjun pulled back reluctantly, waited for Riya to open her eyes then smiled at her gently, "I love you Riya Arjun Suryakant Raute and I am so, so sorry for hurting you like I did."
Riya finally gave him her signature dimpled smile and Arjun's heart skipped a beat seeing the smile he so loved on her.
Riya couldn't help but forgive him; he may be an idiot, arrogant and rude sometimes but she loves him to distractions. He lashes out when he is angry and he is quick to lose his temper but underneath the tough man is heart of gold that she fell in love with instantly. "I forgive you Arjun Suryakant Raute, only because I love you too and I know you didn't mean the harsh words you threw at me."
Riya moved away from him to walk toward the door but turned and grinned at him. "By the way I forgave you with the first kiss but just wanted to see if you would actually break your own rule of no romance at work." She said with a wide grin and a wink then walked out of the office quickly.
Arjun grinned and shook his head as he watched his wife run out of her own office. Life with his Riya is never dull he thought to himself and followed her to the conference room. Oh I am not yet finished with you yet Mrs. Raute, I have lot more to make up for and by the time I am finished with you, you will never think that you are not loved.
Rathore raised an eyebrow; Chotu and Shree gave Riya a teasing grin when she entered the conference room breathlessly; her cheeks flushed. They knew exactly what might have transpired between the couple in private.
Chotu leaned over to Shree, "Shree if you had bet me for real you would have been short 100 rupees today. Told you this time Arjun sir is going to succeed in appeasing our Riya."
Shree grimaced then grinned at his friend. "Yeah you are right and I don't think it's over yet." He said pointing to Arjun who had walked in at that moment.
Riya didn't dare look up from the file she was working on when Arjun walked into the conference room. She felt his heated gaze on her and bent her head even more to hide her heated cheeks. She might as well have waved a red flag in front of a bull by revealing what she did in the conference room. She knew him well enough to know that she should be prepared for anything.
Arjun took his seat, pulled the file he was working on in front of him but his full concentration was on his wife who was trying to hide her face from everyone. He grinned inwardly because he knew why she had bent her head even more when he walked into the conference room.
He twirled a pen between his fingers as he thought about how to make up to his wife for hurting her so much. He knew she had forgiven him but he knew he had crossed all limits this time and apology was not enough to make up for the hurt.
He placed the pen on the table as an idea formed into his head. He and Riya needed to go away for day or two and this is the perfect time to ask Sam to give them time off since there were no major pending cases at the moment. He decided to finish his paper work then approach Sameer later in private. He wanted to surprise Riya but first he wanted to make sure it was okay to take the time off.
Later that evening Arjun walked into their apartment, placed the shopping bags on the sofa then walked straight back to the kitchen where he could hear Riya starting to make dinner preparations.
He leaned against the doorframe for a moment to watch her move around the kitchen so fluidly. He went and wrapped his arms around her small waist just as she reached up for a bowel; he nuzzled her neck and inhaled her sweet scent before giving her a kiss on her pulse point.
Riya gasped when she felt strong arms around her then immediately relaxed when she felt Arjun nuzzled her neck. "Arjun what are you doing?"
Arjun lifted his head then turned Riya around to face him but held on to her so that she doesn't move away from him. He grinned down at her, "If I have to explain what I am doing then it's obvious I am not doing it right."
Riya's eyes widened then she pushed her way out of his arms, "Arjun go freshen up while I start dinner." She said as reached up again for the bowel.
Arjun stopped her midway then brought her hand down to hold it in his hand. "We are not eating at home today. You need to get ready and pack an overnight bag; we are going away from the city for a day."
"Really?" Riya asked with excitement.
Arjun grinned at her childlike expression and thought he made the right decision even if he had to ask Sam for time off and take all the teasing from his best friend too. At the end of the day smile on Riya's lips and the sparkle in her eyes made it all worthwhile.
He kissed her forehead then took her by the hand to walk out of the kitchen. "Really, it's only for one day but at least we will be away from the city, noise and all the crimes."
Riya was excited at the prospect of spending one whole night and one whole day alone with Arjun without any interruption. May be, just may be he was about to grant her big wish, the very thing they had argued about the day before.
"But where are we going?" She asked as he picked up the shopping bags from the sofa on their way to the bedroom.
He turned and winked at her. "It's a surprise, now hurry up." He handed her the bags, "And pack these in the overnight bag too."
Two hours later Arjun pulled up in front of a private beach bungalow. Riya jumped out the car immediately when she saw the place and its surrounding area. This particular bungalow was away from the road and all the others they saw as they drove the hills. It was surrounded by the most beautiful greenery Riya had ever scene. She wanted to run to the back of the place to see if it was just as beautiful but contained herself.
Arjun met her at the front of the car and placed his arm around her waist. "Do you like it?" He asked as he gazed at her happy face.
Riya turned, wrapped her arms around his neck then looked him in the eyes. "I love it, its beautiful. Thank you for bringing me here." She lifted up on her toes and gave him a light kiss on his stubble cheek then immediately ran to the front door of the small house.
"Now hurry up and show me the inside of the house." She shouted when he didn't immediately follow her.
Arjun just shook his head and did just that. He stood to the side and observed her as she explored the small house with a child like wonder. He also looked around and saw the place through her eyes and thought the place had its own charm.
It was small but clean and well kept. It had a small living room in the front; kitchen was at the back of the house, which was also small but it had double doors that lead to outside enclosed, patio. To the right side of the front door was a small hall that led to a single bedroom which also had a small patio attached to it.
Riya explored every nook and cranny of the small house before coming back to him. "Arjun this is a beautiful place," She said as wrapped her arms around him and placed her head on his shoulder to give him a quick hug.
Arjun hugged her back then bent slightly to bury his face in the softness of her shoulder length hair.
He moved away from her bit reluctantly but kept his arms around her. "I am glad you like the place," He released her completely then turned her towards the bedroom. "I have something for you." He said as he led her into the bedroom where he had placed their overnight bag.
He pulled out the shopping bags and handed her one of the bags. "This is for you," he said as he placed the bag in his hand. "I want you to wear this for me tonight."
Riya placed the package on the bed then turned back to Arjun. "You know you don't have to do all this, I really did forgive you and I am over what happened. I understand why you were upset."
Arjun wrapped his one arm around her waist then cupped her face with the other hand. He tilted his head sideways and smiled down at her. "I know you already forgave me but this time I had gone too far and I hurt you by refusing to listen to you."
Riya felt her heart leap up with hope. She wanted to ask him if this meant he was ready to listen to her about starting their own family but she didn't want to mess up the moment in case he was still not ready.
"I love you Riya." Arjun whispered just before he bent his head to capture her lips gently. Riya entwined her arms around his neck, lifted up on her toes to respond to the kiss.
Arjun groaned when she tried to deepen the kiss and released her quickly. He wanted tonight to be perfect. "I am going to go freshen up while you check your gift." He said as he grabbed the other shopping bag and went into the bathroom to freshen up.
Riya stood still for a moment after Arjun enclosed himself in the bathroom then came out of her trance as she glanced at the gift bag on the bed. She wasn't sure what to make of the sudden change in Arjun's behavior, not that she ever doubted his love for her but at the same time she also knew that he was not completely over Roshni when he married her. Arjun always held part of himself back at all times and she didn't know how to breakdown that last invisible barrier.
Riya thought that if they started their own family he would let go of the past finally, not that she wanted to erase Roshni completely out of his heart, but she just wanted him to let go of the fear of losing her like he lost Roshni. She had broached the subject of having a baby after much contemplation on her part but he had blown up when she tried to talk to him and he had said some things that he was obviously feeling bad about now. She hoped that he doesn't end up giving into her request because he was feeling guilty.
Riya sat on the bed then opened the bag, she gasped when she saw the gorgeous black silk Sari. It was simple with only light decorations at the border. Fabric of the sari was shear, smooth and soft.
She couldn't help but smile at his choice; he never ceases to surprise her with his unexpected but perfect gifts. "Do you like it?"
She looked up when she heard him then her breath hitched when she saw him. He was in black slacks and black shirt that was only buttoned up half way. His hair was wet and sticking to his forehead. All other thoughts flew right out of Riya's head as he walked towards her.
Arjun bit the inside of his mouth, to keep from grinning at her, when he saw the glazed look in her eyes. He had seen the lost look on her face when he came out of the bathroom after a quick shower. He had also known what had put the sadness back on his face and wanted to kick himself for putting her in the dilemma. He had realized that he needed to stop living in the past or else he will destroy his future and his second chance at love as soon as he had spoken the harsh words to Riya the other night. He had tried to retract his statement but his she hadn't been ready to listen at the time but now he was going to clear up everything between them so that they could start fresh.
Arjun took her hand to make her stand in front of him. "If you keep looking at me like that our dinner is going to be delayed until breakfast." He said huskily in her ear.
Riya shivered when she felt his warm breath in her ear then she heard his words and flushed because he had caught her staring at him with lustful eyes.
She cleared her throat when he moved back and saw him grin at her. She clutched the Sari to her chest and moved past him but stopped at the bathroom door to look at him one more time before going in and closing the door.
She leaned against the door and tried to calm her galloping heart down to is normal rate then shook her head in expiration at herself for getting tongue tied in front of him even after being married to him and knowing him so intimately for almost a year now. There was something definitely different in the way he was behaving today but she didn't want to get her hopes up too much.
