Everytime I see this movie...I feel like I notice new the small details that Gowarikar had paid attention to...this movie is Gowarikar and SRK's bet work till date. I absolutely cannot believe that SRK didn't get a national award for this performance and f**king Saif Ali khan got it for Hum Tum...W*F was that...this thing will piss me off for life ughhh

This also happens to be my family's favourite movie...and the NRI element just makes it more relatable for my whole family. Whenever I watch this movie it makes me all sad as to which direction is India going and tells me that motherland needs all its children to progress (I am getting too patriotic I know LOL)

It makes me leave everything and run back to India and help the country in anyway possible...but I guess I am not as strong as SRK's character Mohan & my life isn't a movie.

Lastly special kudos to UTV for producing a movie like this and shout out to AR Rahman for that marvellous music...I mean this movie wouldn't have been what it is without the BGM.

Anyone who hasn't seen this movie...please do yourself a favour and watch it

This one gets 5/5 all the way

May I just add that this is the best BGM ever used in Indian cinema

Absolutely LOVE Swades! Easily my Top 3 favorite movie of all time. Every single time I watch it I cant help but feel emotions of joy, happiness, sadness, uneasiness, guilt and helplessness all wrapped in one.

I wish I could truly go back to India one day and help the country progress any way that I can, but as youve said Im also not as strong as Mohan.

If Saif had ANY self respect he'd hand that Best Actor National Award to SRK and kiss his feet for taking it from him. I dont respect National Award for THIS stupidity of theirs!

Marvelous job by everyone in the film! This is one Ashutosh film that I could watch again and again without getting bored even a bit.

Lagaan had me a bit bored in the beginning, Whats Your Raashee throughout the end and Jodhaa Akbar throughout the entire movie LOL

Kai Po Che

What a brilliant movie man! Its the first movie that I've seen on 2013 and probably the only one worth watching as of now. The whole movie was just SO good. I was so deeply engrossed and the performances were just fab. All three of the guys were fantastic. The friendship between them was aww.<3 They've all got a bright future ahead. And the music is so soulful. You really feel for each and every character in the movie. The reunion scene after the Aussie/India match was adorablee!<3 And seriously, so what if Sushant has got an annoying PR? Im not fan, maybe after watching this movie I am one, but still, that guy is really talented! I dont know the names of the other two, but they were so damn natural. Amrita Puri was great as well. The passion with which Ishaan starts training Ali, how tears fill Ishaan's eyes when Ali plays well, everything was just too good! And Govind and Vidya's love story was pretty realistic with no extra glam or anything. You really do feel for Omi as well cause whatever happened really wasnt his fault.! I watched this movie with sky high expectations, yet, I wasnt disappointed. The way they developed Ishaan and Ali's relationship was so realistic. I highly recommend this flick cuz I loved it.<3

PS: Amit Trivedi is awesome.

Kai Po Chhe - Brilliant storytelling at it's best. Very few films have the power to move me to tears, and this one did. DIrector Abhishek Kapoor is an emotionally intelligent person, and it comes across in his way of directing. He knows and understands his characters very well, which is why none of them are one-dimensional or stereotypical. Most importantly, they're real people. All three actors were brilliant (and I might even have a small crush on Sushant Rajput) but the best of the three was undoubtedly Raj Kumar Yadav who portrays Govind with so much sensitivity that it's hard not to get a lump in your throat when his character breaks down in the film.

Special mention to the kid who played Ali, he hardly had anything to say but his face spoke volumes! I think he was brilliant.

This is also one of Amit Trivedi's finest works. Although Manja probably got quite famous, I feel Shubharambh and Meethi Boliyan are equally amazing.

Like many critics I am in two minds about the movie.

I think the problem with some of the bad reviews is that the movie was billed as a romantic comedy. This is more of a drama comedy. The story delves a lot into relationships, family and realizing one's potential. There are no laugh out loud, hilarious moments. Rather the humor is more subtle, situational, and 'that's life' kind.

The story is about Portia an admissions officer at Princeton University. She has a perfect life, a steady ten year live-in relationship and well on the way to promotion. Her life is turned upside down when she receives a call from John Pressman with the Quest Academy, and she goes down a path she never imagined.

One aspect of the film is a critique of our educational system. It really makes you question how the system is setup and wonder if it really is fair as it ought to be. The other aspect of the film is the interpersonal relationships. And I think the only problem with this otherwise exceptional film is that it the two aspects of the story don't always come together seamless.

I loved it. Probably because I am in love with Tina Fey and a huge fan of this brand of very understated humor. I'm also a sucker for these touching, but not sappy plot lines. But I think people expecting a run of the mill romcom will be sorely disappointed.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

What would you do if the world was going to end in 21 days and your spouse just left you? Dodge Petersen decides to reconnect with his old high school sweet heart whom he has yearned for his entire life. His neighbor disastrous British neighbor decides to help him. The movie is an unusual story about friendship, romance and self discovery. It is about finally figuring out where our priorities lie because time is running out for real.

I used to dislike Steve Carrell as an actor. But since movies like Crazy Stupid Love and this, I've discovered that he isn't just a goofy comedian. He has a wider range. And for some reason he has an endearing charm as a middle aged romantic. Keira Knightley is delightful. She is humorous, lively, fun, strong, yet extremely vulnerable and emotional. I always feel she is underutilized.

Overall this is a heartwarming feel good film with some deeper food for thought.
