Kkusum (Manasi Joshi Roy): She is a caring mother that has good values. She has a theory of looking into all her challenges in life with a smile. At the same time she can be stubborn and over-protective. She is a sensitive middle class mother that is grateful to god for what life has given her.
Kumud (Aashka Goradia): Kumud has all the good values of Kkusum. She is naive and smart at the same time. If anyone says anything to her she will stand up for her rights and feelings. When she finds out she is pregnant and the childs father Ksh*tij leaves Kumud she loses all hopes. Suddenly she tries to do whatever she can to find happiness for her small family. She ends up learning to face challenges and live life the hard way like her mother.
Abhay (Anuj Saxena): This character is indeed a confusing one. Sometimes he is good and sometimes he is bad. His life changed coompletely when Kkusum left him only to find out that she was pregnant. Before this she already brought a surrogate mother, Maahi, to give her In-Laws a grandchild as Kkusum thought she could never become a mother. Abhay became a good father to his daughter, Kali who has been given birth from Maahi. When Abhay finds out that Kkusum is alive and that he has another daughter his world turns upside down.
Maahi (Poonam Narula): Maahi used to once be a "Nautanki". When she was brought into the Kapoor Household she started manipulating Kkusum causing her to leave the house. She is deeply in love with Abhay and cherishes her beautiful moments with Abhay. When she finds out that Kkusum is alive she doesn't tell Abhay or anyone else in the household.
Kali (Rucha Gujrathi): She is a brat. She won't be happy until she gets whatever she wants. She is jealous of Kumud and feels neglected when Abhay does things for Kumud. She manipulates others to get attention especially when it comes to her love interests and Kumud. When young she thought that her real mother was Kkusum and called Maahi "Aunty". When she finds her parents past her world changes completely.
Ksh*tj (Amit Sareen): He is a sincere person who falls in love with Kumud. His only priority in life is his work. When Kumud comes into his life he views his life differently. His brother Nakul and his Aunt are hell bent to get Kumud out of Ksh*tij's life. They create a false report that shows that Ksh*tij has cancer. He tries to create hatred for himself in Kumud so she will be able to get over his death. When he founds out he doesn't have cancer his goal is to save his love from marriage with her friend Garv.
Garv (Chetan Hansraj): He was deeply in love with Kali. He is a good friend especially with Kumud. He knows how to fulfill a relationship to its best. He is extremely emotional. He is indebted to Kumud. He is now Kumud's husband and is trying really hard to forget his past with Kali. In the past two episodes that have been aired it has been discovered that Garv is Esha's son. Garv claims that he is who he is all thanks to his mom Esha.
Esha (Shweta Kawaatra): She is smart cunning and selfish. Once Kkusum's friend, she dedided to take the bad route. She betrayed Kkusum and tried stealing Abhay from Kkusum in various incidents. Esha is responsible for Kkusum's zillion marriages and divorces. She suddenly was said to have dissappeared and now she is back. She is the typical Balaji baddie and knows how to hurt people and use people to get the job done.
Nakul (Manoj Bohra): Nakul is a spoilt brat like Kali. He uses Kali and pretends to love her in order to get Abhay's riches and buisness. He hates Kumud and refuses to let her become the bahu of his family by marrying Ksh*tij. When Kali finds out that Nakul is using her and that she really loves Garv, Nakul can go to any extent to get her back. In the process he has already got a couple of slaps from Kali.
Other Characters of Kkusum include Aryaman and Saakshi (Ksh*tij and Nakul's Parents), Natasha aka Tashu (Abhay's Once Upon a Time Wife) played by Narayani Shastri (Note: This character is currently not in the serial so don't get too confused😕),Harry (Nakul's best Pal) played by Saurabh Arya, Simran (Kumud's best friend) played by Jennifer Vinget.
