This thread is for information, updates and discussion on the TV serial 'Mahabaratham' in Tamil telecast in Sun TV every Sunday at 10 am IST.

The videos and pictures that I might post or provide links for are not mine and belongs to their respective owners. I simple wish to share what I'm watching.

The translations are entirely my work. Any suggestions/criticisms are welcome.

Thanks for sharing the information, Vibhishna! I do not have any Tamil channels so unfortunately, I cannot see the show, but I will see the trailers for sure!

Which part is the show at right now?

Which part is the show at right now?

Its just started - only 2 episodes have been telecast. I haven't seen the second yet. The first one starts with Vyasa praying to Lord Brahma and Brahma instructing the sage to write the Mahabharatha. And then, King Janamejaya's snake sacrifice and Sage Astika's intervention was shown. Vyasa listens to the arguments between the king and the sage and proceeds to tell the story of Mahabharatha - starting with the first child of Shanthanu being born. The new episode may have gone further - don't know if Bheeshma had turned up yet.

I don't think Ganga's love was not accepted in Indraloka. After Shantanu died, I think they were together in the heavens. Ganga and Mahabhisha were cursed by Brahma to be born on Earth due to their conduct and not their love. Mahabhisha was born as Shantanu.
