Here is chapter 6
Hope you enjoy!! . Guys, you are going get introduced to your fav character now, Lakhu
He had been alone all his life. Fighting, struggling for anything and everything. He had been brought up in an environment filled with guns and fights. They would be everywhere. It had been difficult at first, but he grew accustomed to such scenario. Unknown to him, he was automatcally drawn in. As he grew up, he realised his situation.Village people were no less insolent, calling him a najayaz, an orphan. It pained him that his own village people called him names.
But then, with a caring countenance, Datta accepted the supposed alienated child in Barahgaon.
Prithvi understood it now. Datta married him to his daughter as children, so that he would not be called an orphan anymore. But, life was holding something else for him. Datta's wife, Sudha ran away with miu, leaving behind innocent little Prithvi yet again alone. He was once again an orphan. Datta wouldn't have been able to do anything.
Datta had been caring. He cared for Prithvi like his own son.
Comprhending his own situation was getting difficult. He was in intense turmoil. Datta, which he now wished to call as father, He was supposed to kill him! Otherwise the love of his life would be gone. He had reached a dead-end. Nothing seemed right to him.
He badly needed to talk to someone. But who?
Kiran's face flashed over.
Maybe, maybe she can help me. Understand me. he thought.
Hours elapsed before Meera regained consciousness. Getting her senses back, she realised she couldn't move. Her whole body felt numb. It took her her a good number of minutes to realise she had been kidnapped, tied and gagged. She had been lying on the floor like a dumped sack.
With a much needed effort, she shifted to her side, pressuring her elbow, she got up to a sitting position making the least posssible noise. Looking around made her realise the situation she was in, the truth finally sinking in. She found herself in a dimly lit, gloomy place, probably a warehouse, with huge rows of gunny bags stacked over and loads of hay scattered.
She had to crane her neck to look over the gunnybag she had used as a pillow. She could see no one.
Prithvi's and Akash's image flashed before her. Tears fell.
'Prithvi, where are you? Save me from this hell , she thought.
She heard faint voices. They grew louder. Acting on her instincts, she quickly lay her head on one of the gunnybag and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.
Two men came in and sat on chairs some distance away from Meera. She dared not open her eyes, but her ears made every effort to pick up the conversation. She heard one of them speak to other. By the athority in his voice, Miu deduced he must be some important guy, while the other, an amateur, she thought. A certain word in their conversation made Miu alert and she decided to listen whatever they were talking about Barahgaon.
"...in Barahgaon. You must have heard about Lakhan. Ramdhari's younger brother. Quite fond he was of that woman."
" Really? What happened?"
"She got killed in a skirmish. Oh well, lets just say she got killed trying to save Ramdhari"
Meera heard a chuckle.
"You seem to know everything, saab"
"Yes , I do." Another laugh. "That brute doesn't know that she got murdered.Lakhan still thinks she died due to childbirth. Sudha Ran away with her daughter. And Ramdhari's older brother was supposedly insane."
"That whole family..."
"That whole family I want to see in ruins. And that day is quite near. Lets just say, tomorrow."
Miu heard a long evil laugh.
She was shocked. She needed to tell everything to Prithvi, but how?
Dressed in a white dhoti and beige colored kurta, Ramdhari was standing at the door, ready to leave for Delhi. He was supposed to meet some officers regarding some matters concerning Barahgaon. Sudha came in with a small bowl.
"Don't worrry, I will be back by night"
"Datta, I can accompany you. If you want , that is." Lakhan interjected with his usual evil smirk plastered on his face.
"Lakhan, there is no need. The trucks containing grains will be here anytime. After all, you have to look after the accounts here ,since Prithvi is gone now"
Sadness gripped over Datta. He missed Prithvi so much. Sudha sensing the awkward silence between Lakhan and Datta, qiuckly changed the topic.
"Ram, you must be getting late. You have to reach Delhi on time. The officers would be waiting for you"
"Yes- yes," saying Datta sat in the car. Even after the car couldnot be seen, Lakhan kept looking.
