Returning from the school, a
happy smile crept to Anandi's lips as she saw Shiv's Scorpio parked outside the
entrance of the CH. So he is back from Jaipur, she thought with a surge of
excited nervousness gripping her heart."Aaj main aapse apne dil ki baat kah kar
hi rahungi Shiv" she sighed softly with legs pacing up towards the hall.
"Choti ma Shiv aa gaye na...kahan pe
hain kahin dikhayi nahin de rahe" she gasped, curiously scanning the room for a sight of him.
"Jee han aa gaye...par aapko kya
farak padhta hai Anandi bhabhi. Chahe bhaiya aayein ya na ayein, Aapka sara concern to bas apne ex-husband aur unki family ke
liye hi reserved hai na" Sanchi's taunt made Anandi feel irritated at her.
"Sanchi tum hameshan aisa kyun
kehti ho. Main haveli isliye jati hoon kyunki woh mera parivar hai.Meri zindagi
ki har taqleef mein mera saath diya hai unhone.Yahan tak ki agar woh log na hote to
shayad main kabhi apni zindagi ki sabse khubsurat khushi se rubaru na ho pati. Tumhare
bhaiya se. Isliye jati hoon main wahan.Na ki isliye kyunki woh mere ex-husband
ka ghar hai." Sanchi gawked Anandi dumbly as she gave her an earful while Meenu
proudly smiled at her intrepid daughter in-law.
"Oh to aapko ulte jawab dena bhi
ata hai....I must say bahut kuch sikha ke bheja hai apki family ne aapko"
"Enough Sanchi! Ye kya tareeka
hai apni bhabhi se baat karne ka. Tum Anandi ko kah rahi ho usse Shiv ki chinta
nahin. Aur tum jo itni zor se chilla rahi ho. Tumhein pata hai na Shiv ki
tabeyiat theek nahin aur woh araam kar raha hai. Phir bhi" as soon as Anandi
heard Shiv wasn't well, she forgot all about Sanchi.
"Choti Ma kya hua Shiv ko...phone
par to unhone kuch nahin bataya" she was becoming panicky now.
"Beta kuch khaas nahin bas halka
bukhar hai...shayad thakan ki wajah se. Tum mil lo usse".Nodding swiftly to Choti
ma Anandi ran towards her bedroom. A sense of relief dwelled upon her as she
saw him napping peacefully with his back rested on the back of the bed and arms
curled around her pillow. She smiled at the sweet sight. It had just been a day
that they were away but it almost felt like an age. Being careful not to
disturb his slumber, she touched his forehead with the back of her hand. His
eyelids cracked open feeling her cold hand press against his warm skin. He
sighed deeply as his lips curved into an involuntary smile.
"Shiv mujhe lagta hai aapka
bukhar badh raha hai...main abhi thermometer le kar aati hoon" she mumbled
worriedly and turned to get the thermometer from the drawer when Shiv caught
her by wrist.
"Anandi pls do minute mere paas
baithiye na" he spoke with such tenderness in his eyes that it made her absolutely
worried for him.
"Woh shaadi ke baad pehli baar
aapse itni der tak door raha na...bahut ajeeb lag raha tha.Aur phir kaam itna
zyaada tha ki aapse theek se baat bhi nahin ho payi. I am sorry Anandi ki
achanak se main aise chala gaya. Aapse mil bhi nahin paya" a wave of surprise
struck Anandi as she mused at her husband with furrowed brows. There she was worried
about him being upset with her for not taking up his calls and he was apologizing
from her instead.
"Nahin Shiv sorry to mujhe kahna
chahiye ki maine bina soche aapka phone kaat diya. Main na bahut badi bevakoof
hoon. Atleast mujhe aapka phone receive to karna chahiye tha chahe main apne
dil ki baat baad mein..." she stopped midway nervously realizing this was not the
time.
"Dil ki baat..?" his ears
suddenly stood up at the unexpected revelation his wife was about to make.
"Han woh kuch batana hai aapko...par
abhi nahin. Baad mein bataungi" she blushed fleetingly making him more
surprised.
"Anandi sab theek hain na...?"he was getting a bit desperate now.
"Haan Shiv sab theek hai.Aap who sab
chodiye na...bas mujhe ye bataiye ki aap mujhse naraaz to nahin hai na.Main aapka
phone nahin le payi...aur woh bhi ek baar nahin balki baar baar" she pouted with a
guilty-conscious look touching her eyes.
"Nahin Anandi its ok...Choti ma ne bataya ki aap
mandir mein thi. Aur main aapse naraaz nahin tha. Bas aapki chinta ho rahi thi
ki kahin haveli mein kuch aisa to nahin hua jis se aapko phir se chot pahunchi"
Anandi felt amazed at his words. Did
this man ever come in touch with any negativity of the world? His goodness was surely
beyond the realms of this earth.
"Shiv aap chinta mat
keejiye.Haveli mein sab theek hai.Jagiya wapas aa gaya hai aur dadisa bhi
mujhse naraaz nahin hain.Aur aaj to main apne school bhi wapas gayi thi. Maine
socha kyun na basant panchami ke mauke pe phir se gaon walon ko padhana shuru
karun. Iss se mera bhi man lag jayega aur gaon walon ke saath saath Ganga ko
bhi padhne ka mauka mul jayega jis se hum court mein ye kah sakte hain ki Ganga
apne pairon pe khade hone ke poori tarah layak hai.Maine theek kiya na Shiv..."
"Aapko lagta hai ki aap kuch Karen
aur woh mujhe theek na lage...but I wish main bhi aapke school aa pata...aakhir
mujhe bhi to pata chale ke Jaitser ki teacherjee apne students ko kaise padhati
hain" he smirked grinningly totally sure the next he would see her running away
blushingly.
"Waise CollectorSahab...aapko
lagta hai aap wahan honge aur main padha paungi" she answered back leaving him in
a fit of unexpected pleasure.
"Anandi...??"
"Ab mun band keejiye...aur tab
kholiyega jab main kadha lekar aaungi" giggling she ruffled his hair and placed
a soft peck on his forehead. There was something he felt slipping beneath him. Was
it the floor or the bed, he thought dumbly as he saw his Mystery Mrs. walk away
swaying her cute bottom.
