So jodha akbar might be ur another fav., right as it has both of your fav. stars.

Yes, that movie is heaven for me.  Wink  Hrithik-Aish is a hot pair.  But, nothing beats Salman-Aish in HDDCS!!!!!!

Ya Salman-Aish rocked the best jodi onscreen everSmileClap

in this male dominated world, a film like UMRAO JAAN was destined to flop even the original fared averagely.

but the film was not that bad. but the music could have been better. Alka yagnik couldn't create the magic which was expected. richa sharma's one song bitiya was great. acting by Ash and shabana azmi was moving. while abhishek and suneil looked like a joke.

but i really wonder what made JP Dutta to think of losing money at this stage. and now he has been out of work since.

When I went to watch Umrao Jaan in the theatre here, it was actually sold out! (this is in Canada) and I had to wait unti the next day. The movie did do well overseas, it wasnt the most unsuccessful film in the world.

I think the reason why it wasnt a blockbuster succcess was because the music was not strong enough. A lot of people were disappointed that Alka Yagnik was the singer and on top of that the lyrics/music was not strong enough to be even compared to the first one.

Also, the length was too long.

But the performances were FLAWLESS. For me, its Aishwarya's best performance, and it is a highly underrated film! It was sad because she didnt even get nominated that year! Her emotional moments were phenomenally acted. Its also one of her best looks and dance performances. Nobody else could've pulled it off.

I liked that , Bluffmaster, and Dhoom2 but most his films were thrash.

As for Umrao Jaan my mom said it sucked but she said cinema was housefull here in USA. So it did good overseas but not in India.Confused

Then again so did Paheli, Yaadein & Patiala House
