Suhasi Married 16 years!?

I wikipedia'd Suhasi, and it said that she was 24 years old. I don't understand how she has been married 16 years, unless she got married at eight? But that would mean child marriage? That is not acceptable.  They said on the show today that she was married 16 years. It seems that she is too young to be married for that long.
