How can Ayaan eat some food he found in a store room,how can he be so sure that the food was fresh?

Because he is a bhookadd and Razia and others dont let him eat anything apart for Chilly wale baatein and Afterall Dilshaad mommy had cooked, food is supposed to be tempting. i am sure he misses Dilshad mommy's handmade khanaa!!
