Race 2 was pretty steady in CI and Rajasthan on Tuesday as compared to Monday. Below are the first five days collections of Race 2 in Rajasthan and CI.

It was nearly 30 months back that Dabangg had a 49 crore nett weekend and that 50 crore opening mark became a reality but since then only four films (Bodyguard, Ra.One, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2) have breached the 50 crore mark despite the release sizes almost doubling since Dabangg. The screen count after 2500 makes only a small difference as it is all low grossing screens but rising ticket prices over the last 30 months also have to be taken into account.
In the last two years so many films have clocked in the 44-47 crore nett range but were not able to go to 50 crore. In fact Dabangg still remains the fifth biggest opening weekend ever after the films mentioned above. |

A 50 crore opening is proving to be a very stiff task mainly because films are unable to average out 17 crore a day and outside a national holiday 15 crore daily business is the norm for a big film with Sunday's doing 10-15% better. | |

RACE 2 Remains Average On Weekdays
"Race 2" collected huge 51 cr nett plus over the weekend but though film was not expected to hold on from there on as the reports were extremely mixed. Film is following expected path with collections dropping on weekdays. Film collected close to 7 cr nett on Monday with 55% drop from Friday and Tuesday saw further drop of 10%. Today again film dropped 10% from yesterday.
Film should collect 5.50 cr nett on Wednesday taking film's total to 70 cr nett. Film's worldwide collection stands at 90 cr nett. Film will finish week one at 74-75 cr nett at domestic box office. Film might struggle next week onwards and 100 cr nett looks like touch and go.
