Hi Sujatha, just read that you wanted this thread to end before you post the chapter... thought I can contribute to it. So here is a review of Chapter 9.

It was definitely a break from the earlier heavy ones and the later emotional ones. It was a good showcase of events describing the slow growth in the closeness between Ashni.

Starting with the picnic, the light banter with Arjun, perfect. LOL  Since I witness the workings of the curious mind of a kindergarten kid everyday, I could completely relate to every single dialog in that whole conversation. Loved Arjun's innocent yet cheeky sounding query about 'love-birds', Armaan's 'spare-me' looks and then his final one liner to Arjun. Just love your Armaan here, loving, sensitive, comical, serious, friend, brother, philosopher, doctor-psychiatrist, all roles molded into one! And the Armaan-Nidhi exchange was yet again a step forward in their relationship development, which we know will soon become Ashu's backbone.

Mallika is just too sweet. Loved the Nidhi-Mallika convo too. The easy acceptance of Nidhi into their group is well brought out and Nidhi's answer completely justifies why. And also this whole picnic brought out the closeness of this tight-knot group where their camaraderie is more like siblings than friends.

The entire description of how Ashni dealt with his sessions was good. Now I know how and why the singing on the phone part came into this, really music can always soothe ones mind and help relax. Both of them opening up, sharing their day, very very important to the future of any relationship. And Yog's gesture in welcoming Ashu in a formal way, very unique. It was very sensitive of Yog to make Ashu feel at ease. Where Ashu was hesitating wondering how his FIL felt about him and his past, Yog's statement clearly telling him that his past was just that, a past he was not going to be judged based on that.

The sangeet could not have been better. It was more than that, it was a celebration of Ashni love. It was there for all to see and feel. Armaans description about their marriage, again something I can relate to at a personal level Embarrassed... but just the whole program, the songs, the expressions, the togetherness of everyone, all this rang of positivism... clearly reflected the fact that Ashni and their new love was the center around which their entire family rallied and would help Ashni nurture this love.

Overall,  wonderful, uplifting, very well written chapter.Clap And very important considered what came up next.

Finally, my first comments on your FF... and since I consider chapter 10 and 11 as part of a whole, I will try and post their comments together...

Welcome to Teri Ore...post Aarti...(officially) I am really glad to see you here..Hug
Thanks, der aaye durust aaye... I was late by only 270 pages!! Wink

First the turning point was the last line of the last chapter... what a holy mess Ashu and Nidhi are in, three words, actually two words and a name and the two have them have come crashing down with a resounding thud! Another full blown panic attack for Ashu, bet it was that little sound Nidhi made... did it remind Ashu about the moment when the knife went through Richa and for a moment he envisioned himself to be one of those dastards?? But then the whole event engulfed him once more.

kind of yes...lines blurred for him as the difference between what they did and what he is doing now vanished from his mind...
Yeah, could feel his mental torture, but could not hate him for taking Richa's name...like Nidhi herself even I could not doubt his love for Nidhi...

And Jagan, the whole convo between him and MAllika when Ashu pukes, really cute, love this couple... And Ashu's thoughts OMG... he is piling on more guilt on top of what he is unable to let go... he is losing his confidence really fast and avoiding Nidhi is simply that... poor Ashu, too bad he is unable to anticipate what sort of problems he may face and yes, Armaan could have warned him/ them but even he underestimated here or maybe was over-confident of their love...

@red...correct...or may be he wanted his friend to be happy so desperately that he pushed that thought away and hoped for the best...
Well, Armaan will definitely be more mindful and anticipate better in the future... maybe even Nidhi will do it herself! But first she has to reassure Ashu that she still loved him and he did not have to feel guilty on her account...

So once again its upto Nidhi to take the bull by the horns and she has to make a 120% effort to convince Ashu that she is not angry or disappointed... she still loved him and she can wait for him till he is completely confident... and Ashu stopping Nidhi when she tried to express her love and trust in him... poor Ashu, still cannot face Nidhi for the SR incident, and I believe he stopped her simply because he wants to get intimate only when he is free of his inner demons and is able to handle having a woman at close quarters. Maybe he has realized  that being in separate homes was one thing but here being together all the time is another... and now Nidhi should reassure him that she would not do anything that he was not ready for and her kissing him was her way of reassuring him of her love and nothing else... somewhere I feel the SR and postponement of the honeymoon are connected?? (You can ignore this line...)

Big smile yup...
Honestly thought you would avoid this line... I sort of jumped the gun here...

And about the wedding itself, the grandeur, the splendor, the resplendent clothes (I can still see Ashu in that navy shewani, must be looking dashing!), the joy and happiness of all their family and friends... Ashu's gesture during the pheras and their 8th vachan, so well written and so sweet, one could feel this couple's love jump out of the pages.

thank you for saying that...
Hug

I really liked that gesture from Ashu and Yog and Nandini's tears reflected that sentiment... Ashu may have to kill his demons but there is no doubting his love for Nidhi. She has become his lifeline and he wants to spend the rest of his life walking hand in hand with her... yes there will be a lot of issues to deal with but if they do and come out the other side there will be no separating them... Sujatha your wonderful description of the wedding brought out this message for me...

that is correct...and i also wanted to stress on the pt that he is literally in every sense going to treat her as his equal..that he would not want her behind him but WITH him..
You brought that out very well, and this is going to be very very crucial starting with chapter 12 itself...

Please continue, I am looking forward to Nidhi's reaction when Ashu stops her, I want to see if she is able to reassure Ashu and how, if they are able to work out a system to deal with his attacks and the aftermaths of his sessions... kudos for writing this FF inspite of all that is going on...

thank you for the truly beautiful review Aarti...@red..you have shown me the way for my next chapter with your sentence...
Glad i could help. Big smile
Hope this completes your 150 pages now!! Embarrassed  That means you are all set to post the next chapter ASAP!! LOL  NO excuses... as for me I am taking myself to bed and to my beauty sleep now! Embarrassed
