Every young girl dreams of a perfect husband, someone who she hopes
to marry someday and live life happily ever after like in a fairy-tale.
But do such dreams ever come true? What happens when she has to face
reality? Taking forward the thought of 'illusion vs. reality' and in
keeping with its promise of constantly innovating, Sony Entertainment
Television along with Swastik Productions together present a new fiction
show titled Amita Ka Amit starting January 14, 2013 every Monday to
Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
Produced by Swastik Productions Amita Ka Amit is a simple story set
against the Gujarati backdrop of Mumbai, that narrates the life of
Amita, a simple and unassuming girl who dreams of an extraordinary life
partner and a picture perfect sasural. She hopes to marry the man of her
dreams, and expects her knight in shining armour to be no less than a
handsome film actor. Immensely pampered by her parents she hopes to
receive the same love from her future in-laws too. But does the perfect
boy exist in reality, will destiny fulfil her wishes and luck favour
her? The show will see the debut of the bubbly and effervescent actress
Chandini Bhagwanani who will essay the role of Amita a sweet, trusting
regular girl next door.
Vivek Bahl, Chief Creative Director, Sony
Entertainment Television says, "What makes Amita Ka Amit stand apart is
the simplicity of the narrative and the universality of the premise,
this is almost every Indian married couple's story. This simple yet
relatable story will surely strike the right chord with viewers as at
some point in time we may have had expectations like Amita. The cast is
fresh and the story is engaging. We look forward to the show being liked
by our viewers."
Founder and Creative Director, Siddharth Kumar
Tewary, Swastik Productions said, "Television is about characters that
you create and I wish viewers are able to identify and relate with
Amita's character and enjoy watching the show just as much as we are
enjoying making it. It's a slice of life show with relatable characters
and we wish that viewers will be entertained. My association with Sony
started with Amber Dhara on Sony five years back. Sony gave me the
opportunity to showcase my first show and my association with the
channel is more emotional than professional. We are very happy to
associate with SET yet again. We are confident that the story and the
characters of Amita Ka Amit will have audiences glued to the show."
Amita Ka Amit boasts of a very strong ensemble cast comprising of some
very well-known and talented theatre artistes like Nayan Bhatt, Jagesh
Mukati, Jyoti Gauba, Raksha Desai and Neha Saxena, along with many
others, who will be seen playing significant roles in this show.
