New Amendments to Rules - Please Read Update 1/20

1. Name Calling: Til this point, name calling was allowed given that it was not abusive or derogatory. However, due to the recent turn of events, we have decided to temporarily ban all name calling. This may frustrate you, but the DT does not feel that this forum has the capabilities to handle civil name calling in recent times. Please note, that this temporary. Once an improvement is seen, this ban will be lifted and civil name calling will be allowed. Name calling includes characters, celebrities, the Development Team and your peers on this forum. Any name calling will result in a direct increase in WL because it is getting out of hand. Members who decide to name call will have their WL increased without any warning PM before hand. 
   
   
2. Chatting in ATs: Uttaran is a big forum with lots of traffic. According to our old rules, chatting is strictly not allowed in ATs. We understand that the hello and hi's some times take up a few pages. However, please do not make this a usual and frequent thing. ATs are used for appreciation - it is not your personal chat club. Such chatting can be continued in Chat Clubs. A total of 2 reminders will be left in ATs starting now. A third offense can lead to temporarily closure of the AT for a 24 hour period.
   
   
3. Instigating Remarks: Nope, no - don't think about. Passing side remarks have also been a concern on this forum. Though you may not directly bash or post abusive content, indirectly conveying the same is also against the rules. From this point onwards, members will receive one PM reminder for this violation. Any further offenses will result in a warning level. So think before you type.
4. Member Attacking: In the recent past, members attacking other members,   has really sky rocketted. Despite reported warnings and notes posted by the DT, it seems like no one cares. Nearly every topic opened (regardless of the content) turns into a war between fan groups. Now that war is not only about the actor/character but it has turned into directly attacking members about their personal lives. There have been countless comments made about members families, members personalities etc. So from here on out, anyone making comments that attack a member directly will have their WL increased IMMEDIATELY without any warning PM.

A few reminders ...

• There's a fine line between bashing and criticizing. Please note, saying something negative about a character is not bashing. 
• Please use to the report button instead of retorting back. It often saves everyone a lot of trouble.
  

You would not want the same for your favourites so why assume that its okay to bash others. You can't demand for equality when you are not ready to be equal yourself. We cannot blame one side because believe or not, somewhere we are all at fault.  Perhaps it's time to reflect on your own behaviour before pointing fingers at others.
